The Israeli army have killed children on a daily basis during their last ”terrorist chase” (I may be a tired drunk but believe me I keep record) and if you don’t know that…well… blame the US mainstream TV that segregate empathy. I don’t think Tori give a shit if the innocents killed are Israelis Palestinians Americans or Russians, well…I don’t reeeally check the uniform before I consider a child murderer a child murderer, you know THAT’S politics, not what I’m writing…but you cant solve this with apartheid…

seaside Heard from the TV Of the latest bombing The girls were dancing She was coming of age I think this is about hearing about the killings during the war on the TV and knowing that young children are being killed before they even have the chance to experience life...hence 'coming of age'.Shells fired out Flowers mowed down The destruction of beautiful things.Innocent targetted Whose God is this? Wish that she had one more day Trying to find some kind justification for this horror but there is none. There at the seaside 5th of December Pearl Harbour's attack. We chased the tide As her treasures were gathered I had to laugh As she gave sand a bath Jangle jangle Jingle jangle Jangle and circle again I think 'circle again' means that wars will be happening in the future.Shells fired out Flowers mowed down Innocent targetted What God is this? Wish that she had one more day Here's Tori's explaination: This b-side to Scarlet's Walk was first released as a streaming-audio feature on Scarlet's Web (located on the "Tori's Tour" map on Provincetown, Rhode Island). It was released officially as one of Scarlet's Hidden Treasures on May 18, 2004 as part of the Welcome to Sunny Florida DVD/CD set. Tori performed this song live (solo), in-concert for the first time during the On Scarlet's Walk Tour in Portland, ME on March 3, 2003. "Originally, Seaside was on Scarlet's Walk. However, as I started tying the story together musically, geographically, and of course, the element of the narrative itself, I came upon a sticky wicket as a writer...It became crystal clear that Seaside had to have occurred within the sonic structural realms of pancake. Almost as if Seaside is the moon to pancake's Mars. Therefore pancake and Seaside are obviously a tension of the opposites. Each polarity is giving Scarlet an understanding of what's really at play here at this time. Both songs are giving her a clue...[Miss Scarlet with the Candlestick in the Library]." -- Tori; Seaside Preface, Scarlet's Web "So I got a letter from...a while ago...it was a couple years ago. and uh, i got it backstage and it was from a 13 year old girl and she said, um, "in all the bombings I lost my best friend" - and she was 13 too. and this came from the Middle East. I carry that letter around and this little song came and she was gonna be on Scarlet's Walk, but she's here tonight instead." -- Tori; in-concert Tower Records Brea, Ca 12/02/03
