Hunter S. Thompson makes me bust a gut every now and then, since we're on a tangent about funny authors.

Um, I'm not reading anything right now. I'm thinking about reading Margaret Atwood's Alias Grace but that thing is as big as a phonebook.

Handmaid's Tale is awesome. It'll make your blood boil in a good way!
Another favorite of mine from Atwood, after The Blind Assassin, is The Robber Bride. It's just so cathartic and vitriolic at the same time--and funny to boot!
(No, wait, it comes second with Oryx and Crake)
Carly, DIWC update: I've read only about 30 pages* and I'm absolutely smitten with the way it's written! Ack! Going back to it now...
*I didn't have a marathon after all because I went out after a nap, heh.

Argghh I have nothing new to read. My sister was going to come over for dinner tonight and lend me The Pact (yes, more Jodi Picoult - I figured why not get on a roll...) but she had to work late, so now I'm stranded with NOTHING to read. I don't want to have to surf news websites again tomorrow at lunch! ack.

I just finished Running With Scissors yesterday. What a fucking disturbing book. tell me about it!!!! i can't wait to see the movie to see what they keep and what they get rid of. it's amazing that guy turned out even halfway "normal" (as in able to write intelligently, etc. i don't know him personally so can't exactly comment further on him!!). i want to read "dry" now.

Donna Tartt! But you knew I would say that yep, i knew you would say that. unfortunately, it's too late - i started the colum mccann book. it's in german, and i needed a break from english after reading like 4 foreign-language books in a row. i regret it, though, because "this side of brightness" is rather boring.

Not really enjoying this one as much as My Sister's Keeper. Will have to read more later on today, it might get more interesting.
