Hmm..
I'd want Tori sitting in the back of a taxi holding a picture of Keyvn Aucoin as she's driving through a city. It's raining and dark out, but not too dark, like dusk-dark maybe.
She could ride past people who are smoking cigarettes and reading an article in a newspaper about Kevyn while laughing at him.
It could all end up in a graveyard maybe with Tori singing by his gravestone.

Rather than a linear narrative, I'd like to see one of her wild and crazy out-there videos, like "Raspberry Swirl". I miss those...
Come to think of it, she hasn't done a weird one since "Raspberry Swirl"!
Don't get me wrong, "A Sorta Fairytale" was freakass with the feet, but aside from that it was very straightforward.

In this song I wouldn't have a taxi. She already did that in the video for 'Jackie's Strength' and thats just not like Tori to repeat something over again.
Nah I imagine Tori will be somewhere like tree farm or something. An apple tree farm just walking around running into different tree people singing.
Or maybe perhaps it would be nice if she did something of a Peter Gabriel video type thing. You know, with the clamation? lol that would rock if we saw Tori in clay with fruits bobbing around her head! LOL

Now I'm picturing Tori singing with the tree-people (the "ents") in the new Lord of the Rings movie. Lol. With her sitting on their shoulders like the hobbits did. Hehe... I know Tori did the taxi thing before in the Jackie's Strength video, BUT, she wasn't smoking a cigarette in that video, and there would lie the difference. |

When I hear the song the following pictures come to my mind:
Tori meets some old friends, they´re all in bar, it´s dark inside, only a few lights are shining. They are there, because one of their friends has died.
They drink a lot, so "lily is dancing on the table", they freak out a bit.
Then cut, I see the lights of car shining onto the street while it´s driving ( the Lost Highway reference).
Tori in the bar realizes she´s the only one who´s grieving about her friend, she´s the glamorous bitch in need, the others are killer bees, they go on, if nothing has happenend. Her old friends drink more and more.
Tori feels uncomfortable, leaves the bar, the taxi is waiting right there, she gets in and lights a cigarette.

How bout this:
"lily dancing on the table" is a strip club.
"the killer bees" is a CGI swarm of humongous killer bees that swarm in and kill everybody in the strip club.
And the moral of this story is...? ;D

i can just see her walking on crowded streets kindof to herself...watching other people get into taxis...kindof remembering certain things...
and yea smoking a cigerrete (i cant spell and i dont smoke) but it would be a cool idea

Well, first: forgive my multiple grammar errors (you know i'm not a natal english speaker). So well, hope you can understand my concept for the Taxi Ride video (which i thought it should be about Kevyn since the moment when I read the whole story about the song, Kevyn and his death).
Part 1:
It starts with the night vision of someone who's driving a car (you know, how you see the street when you're driving in your car).
Camera moves so fast so the lights and buildings appear quickly. Then it changes to a sort of restaurant
where there's a girl singing with a band, Tori wears a black dress with a flower in her left shoulder and an also black hat.
She's drinking (i don't know if it's water or wine) and holds a photo album in her left hand
Then she sings "Lily is dancing on the table" and you see a girl dressed like an old-cabaret-girl (I don't mean the girl is old but her style)
she's acting like a prostitute with the man in that table (strange because the restaurant looks very elegant).
Tori keeps singing and then it begins the "just another dead fag line" and she goes out of the restaurant walking to the left street (for us is left, for her is right)
she still has the photo album. She sings "missing..." and in that very particular moment a man appears and tries to steal the photo album, then comes the "and i'm down to...." line, in that moment the camera freezes Tori and the man and moves in a little circle from Tori's face to her left shoulder.

Part 2 Quickly there's a change of stage: Now Tori appears in a desert, wearing a white dress and holding (still the photo album), it's raining in that desert. It begins the "i'm glad you're on my side" line and there's another change of stage. Now there's sun and Tori's walking on a street which looks like N.Y. streets She sings "you think you deserve a trust fund" and repently she sees one of those benches where you wait for a bus or something. She sees it and the scene turns completely yellow and there are different couples kissing each other in the bench, old man and woman, young ones, gay ones, etc. I mean, it's just "one" couple, but they rotate, first you see the old couple, then the young one, then the gay one, later they all are mixed and finally the mix stops with the gay one. One of the boys (one who looks very much like Kevyn) says the other "sure you talk the talk when you need to". Tori sings the rest, takes a bus and leaves. Then she's again walking on another new york street singing the "just another dead fag" part. She's about to cross the street waiting for the semaphore to change. Since the video began, Tori's been wearing the black dress with the hat (the one i described on the restaurant part, except for the desert scene where she wears a white dress). Now, while Tori waits for the semaphore's light to change, the camera spins again, the video turns yello again and Tori wears a different dress, one as the one she used in the Cornflake Girl US Version video. She looks younger and crosses the street. Here comes the "and i'm down to your last cigarrette" part again. Tori crosses and almost gets hit by a car, then the guy she saw in the bench (the one who sang the "sure you talk the talk" part) saves her from being hit by the car. The danger is over and Tori thanks the guy, so they go to take a cup of coffee and start talking. Then we come back to the scene where today's Tori (the one with the black dress) is waiting to cross the street. A lot of people start yelling at her because she's not moved and the semaphore's light changed mins ago. This happens in the "still....." part of the song. Now Tori's again walking on another street. This time she goes to the house of an old woman who gives her the photo album, Tori opens it (we don't see what's inside the photo album), but it must be something kinda sad coz she cries a little tear along with the old woman, and later they hug each other. Some seconds before the "i'm glad you're on my side" part starts again. We're back to the first scene of the video where Tori's being assaulted by the man who wants to steal Tori's photo album. Now the song goes on, Tori doesn't want to give her photo album to the man, so kicks him on the balls (lol, yeah, those balls) and later uses a spray to let him blind while a police who saw everything goes and arrests the man. Now the song's almost over. She sings the "got a long taxi ride" line, while walks (again) on the street, then stops for a while, opens the photo album and sees a picture of her and Kevyn (to be exact, she sees this picture: www.hereinmyhead.com/artimp/kevyn/kevyn.gif). Then closes the photo album again, smiles, keeps walking and the video ends with a scene where we only see her back (something like the final scene of Dido's video "Thank You"). That's it, i don't know how the video will look in your minds guys, but in mine looks... mm.. not too bad  You know, any comments, good or bad are 100 % welcome. |
