Of all the things I've said, it alarms me that this is the most quotable! I'd definitely go to a Tori concert if there's ever one in Oz I can get to, but I have a horrible sneaking feeling I might not like it. I'm really not a fan of concerts, especially because I have tinnitus (ringing in ears) that is made far worse by the ridiculous volume levels at most concerts. I think most sound desk guys were made deaf at a young age by the previous generation of deaf sound desk guys at concerts! Some of the reviews of the current tour suggest the band is overly loud. Thoughts/opinions anyone? Sean (hubby) has tinnitus also (he went to too many Guns&Roses/Metallica shows as a lad, lol!) & we were sorta worried about how it would be for him on this tour.....He had NO problem. Saw tori at the Universal Amplitheater in L.A. which did have a pretty good/controlled sound check system, though. I only thought for one tiny second that it seemed too loud & it was just the beginning of Playboy Mommy. Other than that, the night was perfect & she sounded perfect! I can't really compare the Sony dvd performance/taping b/c that was in a small surround sound theater....but I was sitting just an arm's length from Matt & even him going at it on Crucify & Bliss didn't bother us.....it was like liquid candy being administered thru our ears.

.....it was like liquid candy being administered thru our ears. That has gotta be the most attractive description of a concert ever. Sounds seductive and delicious at the same time

orfeo: the sound is not loud at all. It is just that the bass drowns out the keyboards (particularly the wurly) a lot.
raisin: you going to albany? where is yr seat?

I have seen her once in NH after Choirgirl came out. It was general admission so we had to get there early to get decent seats. We stood in line outside for like two hours or something. It was Late October/ early November and it was freakin freezing. We got really good seats, though, so it was worth it. Tori was wonderful. It was mostly college kids there because it was held at the university, and the feeling of the concert was nice. People were running around with fairy wings on and stuff. I am going to my second concert in March and am really psyched.
