Ugh, I'm sick and every pore on my body feels...sour. Blah. xo Oh, nattie, that's no good. I hope it's not the flu! I had this rotten Japanese B-type flu last week, and just sapped everything from me. Take care, nattie. If I could, I'd send you a garlic sandwich like my grandmother used to do! #23#

It's just a couple of raw cloves of garlic wrapped in bread (to soften the heat).

Oh ok. I love garlic but not sure that'd work out so well for me.. when I make pesto I have to majorly cut down the raw garlic because otherwise it makes me feel all thirsty and pukey.

Oh I love garlic, but it just turns out my body doesn't like it raw. I put heaps in pretty much everything I cook though And I love onions.

hey helen, if you make a tea out of onion peel, a clove of garlic and honey you'll get better instantly from your cough. it tastes like shit, but it helps more than you can imagine.

I'm not much for raw garlic either. They do make garlic capsules, though. There's this echinacea tea I like to drink when I'm sick. Also there's this stuff called EmergenC that is a powder you mix in water that has vitamins and electrolites(sp?) & stuff in it. It helps for hangovers, too. Feel better, Hels.

Paulo, I've been wondering- when are you and your boyfriend having your ceremony? What's his name again?

Thanks, Sabsy! I kinda stole Nattie's thunder though - she's sicker than I am at this point. I'm just having acute reactions to Paulo's posts.
Thanks for the tea-tip, P. I usually minus the onion and garlic, add a Lipton's tea bag and keep the honey in. I don't know if I'm game enough for your version. Unless it brought forth a nice man afterwards!

Yeah, I imagine the garlic/onion aftermath would be kinda horrific otherwise I'd probably try it... heh.
Ginger tea made with fresh ginger is good though. I decided to make curry last night, and found the ginger I had in the fridge was starting to go moldy... but I just cut that shit off and it was ok.

Eww btw, speaking of onions... this place a few doors down from my work that makes dips and stuff is giving off a real oniony smell this morning. Smells yuck, like chutney or something.

Paulo, I've been wondering- when are you and your boyfriend having your ceremony? What's his name again? just call him Rudy. i don't know about no ceremony just yet, why, do you have something special in mind? lol. and Helen, trust me, no nice man will want to date phlegm lady, so you'd better hurry up and make the shit-like tasting tea so you can get all sexy again.

first we're just working on getting him to come over to Brazil. he wants to live here for a year, we're in the process of getting him a visa. then we'll see how it goes. even though we've been together two years next month, long distance relationships are kinda tricky, cuz when you count down to the days, we've only spent like, 6 months together, so we don't really know if we'd stand each other in the long run or if we'd mean to bash each other's heads in with a shovel, you know. so we'll use this year as a test run. then if everything's ok we'll... talk about it.
