It's all a bit hot and heavy for me #34#
Ok, I admit that when I first saw the picture I was kind of taken aback. Then many Tori pictures from 1994 started flashing before me (my favourite era), like it was the end, and I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. I had to rush off to work, and on my way in the car I said twice, 'I'm scared!'
When I got home I looked at it again, and something about the colouring, expression on Tori's face took me back to Strange Little Girls, and that's when it started growing me almost feverishly.
I am really enjoying reading the interpretations out there on the internets - I can't believe how much people are getting from this one picture. It's great! Makes me wish I'd studied a bit of architecture, art history, graphic design, etc.
It's become quite a different picture in my head now, and I'm much happier for it. What I need now is for Tori to be completely lucid/clear during interviews about what's going on here. It looks like they'll be a hell of a lot to discuss!
Can't wait for the music! I'm thinking a cross between SLG/PELE/VENUS.
P.S Paulo, I don't know if this will help, but I think Tori has cute knees. She flashed them a couple of times during the shows I went to last tour #bzz#

I've seen that pic and my instant reaction was "Holy cow - its's gonna be Choirgirlish or Venuslike." Wishful thinking d'oh. Not a big fan of the last three albums here  . But I guess it'd be typical of Tori to provide us with something completely new that will leave us stunned for a while (like she did with most of her earlier stuff). <---- fan of demon Tori  . |

I have to say, I'm not a *huge* fan of the picture. It looks kind of... forced, you know?
It makes a tiny bit frightened for the music. As if she could try TOO hard to back away from The Beekeeper sound and not let things flow naturally.
But I'm not really reading all that much into it. After all, the cover picture for TBK was far and away the worst of all the pictures from that album.
One thing seems reasonably clear though. We're going to be heading for those good ol' themes of male religious patriarchal oppression!

I think I agree with you on the forcedness, Trevor. I mean, I like the picture and the idea of it, but like Helen my mind went back to SLG-pictures. And the one idea that those pictures had all together was how lifeless and soulless Tori seemed in them. Then I could understand it because she was wearing other people's skins, but here is the same blank expression on her face again...
Kind of aloofness, I suppose. I'm not sure I like that part so much.
Still, can't wait ;D

hey Aimee, do you think Tori has a pretty ass? just wondering. I dunno, you don't see many photos of her from behind? Maybe she needs to put on some shorts and have a great bum-shot taken like PJ Harvey did that time so we can all find out  well at least now we know she has pretty knees, according to Helen. now the main question is, does she have pretty feet? human beings are nothing without their feet. |

Maybe this could be your mission ( should you choose to accept it.. lol) to find out. lol oh yeah that reminds me of the ASF video... whoever was the foot model for Tori's leg-with-a-head character didn't have the greatest foot did she!! Obviously disregard the extra big toe - I just mean in general her foot wasn't very nice. |

Heheh yeah how scary! But rest assured, it wasn't  on the dvd release of it (the one that came out by itself at the time, not on Fade To Red) there's a little making of documentary thing. That arm doesn't belong to that actor dude (name escapes me...) either. |

Oh, I know. I am so excited for the return of BADASS Tori. I mean, Tori has always been a badass, I ain't gonna dis her, but her harder edge was away for a while and now it's back! Hellz yeah!

Yes, they are a bit aloof, but there's a kind of grace to them that's different to the aggressiveness of the new pic. On the topic of feet - given Tori's fondness for talking about shoes, there probably aren't too many barefoot pics available! |

Oh yeah, I love the SLG pics. They're so glam and well-done. Ooh, I'm glad that we're gonna see all different kinds of shoes because I am fascinated and admire them so much...hehe
Ok, side note: You know what i just realized? At work when we have markdown papers that say SLG which means "Small Leather Goods", it always reminds me of something and I can't put my finger on it, and now I can...LOL!

I definitely get a sense of badassness from this pic.
Should be interesting. Like Trevor, I'm not reading too much into the whole 'idea' from this one photo... if I've learned anything by now, it's that Tori has at least a thousand different looks/faces/moods per album.
How very exciting. Another 2 years gone by, another new Tori.
