This thread probably belongs in the Mr. Microphone section, but I'm too lazy. If anyone is particularly annoyed or bothered by it being here, let me know and I'll move it. Anyway, I need a new album. Anyone have any suggestions? What's your favorite new album(s) right now? Chances are, I do not have what you suggest, so please share. Thank you, dears.

The Magic Position by Patrick Wolf. You might like him! It sort of has equal parts quirky fun stuff (like the title track) and more mellow stuff. "sounds like if David Bowie and Robert Smith had a kid who could play a shitload of instruments" is a good description. (I've actually been listening to his album Wind In The Wires a bit more lately, but TMP is the newest one anyway)

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! ♥ Oh, Miranda- what is the music you were talking about awhile back in the grateful thread that you fell in love with in the first listen? This girl, Swati. She has a song called "2 O'Clock in the Morning" that knocks me out. I'll try to upload it for you later today.

I dont know you that well, but considering the other music you like, I think you might like these as well...
12 rounds - my big hero dark and industrial, at the same time pretty mellow. Claudia Sarne has such a strange voice. maybe you wont like it and maybe you will... its definatly different. their on Trent Reznor's nothing records as well as NIN and MM.
cicada (self titled) so mellow, some might call it mainstream house, but theres so much beneath the surface, and anyone that cant see that needs their head checked. Heidrun Bjornsdottir has an amazing voice, formally of gus gus and gloss, she's been in the game a while. she also has solo material which I've only heard a tiny bit of, but thats amazing as well.
emilie autumn - ophiliac stringed instruments + electro. reminded me of rasputina just a little.
rasputina I think your safe to try anything by rasputina, pretty sure you'll like them.
shpongle I cant guarantee you'll like this. but its worth a try. kinda trippy and slow at the start but works up to a climax. still really relaxing and peacefull.
I'll upload some songs for you if you want to sample some #79#

I've actually been going through my dryest period ever in new music up until recently, so I'm afraid I can't help you much, other than to recommend fiddling around with the various AOL Radio stations until you find one you like. That's pretty much what I've been doing lately, and I've heard some really interesting things.

Thanks, guys, for all of your suggestions. I will keep them in mind for future purchases. I picked up Ryan Adams and Rufus Wainwright's new albums today. They were both on sale, so I said: what the hell.

Emilie Autumn has good songs! But I think her Enchant album is better than Opheliac. Which is nice too though. ^^
