I hope it isn't too late to post my interpretation (I'm not english-languge, so sorry for my mistakes, I probably make)
thunder wishes it could be the snow.[...] i watch me be this other thing, i never know if i'm marooned or where the purple people go then lily white matricide from vicious words it doesn't leave a scratch so therefore no one's hurt
When you're trying to get closer to someone, he don't want you, he wants a person that he can't have...it's a circle - people want things that they can't get, pushing away things that they can not afford. And they're starting to feel dislike to somebody who dosen't have their own pesonality and criticizes him... So, when they see how it's hurting you, they say with a smile: "it's only words, hon. Don't take them personally". Then you become alone, feeling like being from a different space, than they are.
"and on and on the nurses make it clear just when you escape you have yourself to fear a restaurant that never has to close breakfast every hour it could save the world "
Escaping won't solve your problems. They will get even bigger, only facing it will help. Every psychologist will tell you that, and reastaurant is a kind of escape. It's like starting a new day again and again, therefore you can try to communnicate with people, and if you won't succeed then you can try again...
so hey do you do judo in your finery an angel's face is tricky to wear constantly
It's, maybe, like a girl saying about what she was trying to do and then she turns to the other girl whose adored by all those people, and she sees herself in her...finery is a pose that she makes to become popular...
I hope I've just added something valuable.

Hi there Ame and welcome! All the people who post here first are friends of mine . Thanks for your insight to the song - I liked your "restaurant" interpretation. Never thought of it like that myself!

Here's Tori's description of it: "So I was uh, we were in Cornwall and we were hangin out, a bunch of us. And um, the great thing is that we always had a saying 'it's 6 o'clock in the world somewhere and that means you can have a drink. You know, when you think its too early to drink, we don't drink that much. That depends on who we are comparing ourselves to. But we have a European way we look at thinks, its not like we never kind of go to work...i can't play the piano if i'm doing anything cause i can't find it for one thing...and then once i'm sitting on the stool i still can't find it..so um. There was a time when we would decide it was 6 o'clock and it was like 9:30 in the morning. And um, one time we were having this moment and my friend Tam was telling me a story about a girl named Besty Brown who used to torture her and come up to her (giggles) ..that's the thing she used to come up to me and go 'Hi I'm Betsy Brown, do you do judo? i do judo!'. And I went into the studio and things kinda happened." -- Tori; End Sessions - KNDD 107.7, Seattle, WA 09/11/98 "This is um, actually it ended up on the live disc of the venus album and the this is, we did it at sound check. It didn't make Choirgirl but it ended up being one of our favorites and the band loved it too. So we were just fooling around and um..." (begins playing) -- Tori; KFOG 104.5FM - Berkeley, CA, 10/08/99

It is about self acceptence and how Its tough to be you and not somebody else like one of the ‘normal’ people. But more specifically Its about a musicaly gifted person who suffers from Psychosis. People who If they were not musicians would spend their time in a psychiatric ward. Its autobiographical i am guessing. Tori singing and joking about herself.
