Honey
A little dust never stopped me none He liked my shoes I kept them on
The infatuation begins.
Sometimes I can
hold my tongue Sometimes not when you just skipped-to-loo my darlin and you know
what you're doin so don't even
He knew he was wrapping her around his finger.
You're just too used to my honey now You're just too used to my honey
Because he knew her so well, he knew what would make her do things his way.
And I think I could leave your world if she was the better girl
She would do anything for him. She even accepts him leaving her for another girl if he chose to.
So when we died I
tried to bribe the undertaker cause I'm not sure what you're doin or the reasons
She's confused at his decision.
You're just too used to my honey now You're just to used to my honey
Don't bother coming down I made a friend of the western sky Don't bother
coming down You always like your babies tight
He always likes to be in charge and in complete control of all his relationships.
Turn back one last time Love to watch those cowboys ride But cowboys know cowgirls
ride on the Indian side and you know what you're doin so don't even
You're just too used to my honey now You're just too used to my honey Hey yeah
you're just too used to my honey now
Here's Tori's description of it:
"This is my favorite song from Under The Pink. Um, but the thing is, it's not on Under The Pink because it got kicked off at the last minute in mastering 'cause I'm such a dang-a-lang! Anyway, she's my favorite and it's like, ya know...(sigh)"
-- Tori in-concert; from the US Hey Jupiter single
"This song was the first one written, kind of. Finished, anyway, with a pink paper. And the funny thing is, it didn't get on the record, because she decided that she wanted to be a b-side. Sometimes they decide that. And she's probably my favorite of all of them because um...she reminds me of New Mexico. The most incredible place. If you've got nothing to do this summer, you can come to my house and visit me. I'll make our lemonade."
-- Tori in-concert; Wolverhampton, England 05/02/94, I Love Toffee Apples bootleg
"That [Honey] was going to be on the album [Under The Pink], but I knocked it off. But Honey was OK with it. She was OK, she really was. We had a long talk about it. Because believe it or not, she’s getting great status as a b-side. People love her. So she’s getting all this praise because she’s a bit of an underground song. She’s a bit of a cult song, so she kind of loves this attention. She’s getting more attention than she would if she were on the album. I think everything has its place. The only regret I ever have is that Upside Down wasn’t on Little Earthquakes."
