Body and Soul
Sweet Communion Sweet Communion
I have waited all my life You say you were bonafide To be my judge Lay your law down On me love
Seven devils Bring them on I have left my weapons 'Cause I think you're wrong These devils of your's They need love
Come and kneel with me Body and soul Come and kneel with me Body and soul Body and soul Body and soul
Sweet Communion Sweet Communion
In my temple Boy, be warned Violence doesn't have a home Now but ecstacy That's as pure as a woman's gold
I'll save you from that Sunday sermon Boy, I think you need a conversion
Body and soul
I think this has the same theme as "Devils and Gods". The whole merging of the 2 things that only you possess: your body and your soul. To accept both of them as sacred and not condemn one and call it a sin. I think this has to do with the taboo put on sex in the Christian church and I like how she says she'll save him from that Sunday sermon and that he needs a conversion. To see the light. On a side note, I always picture the duet being that Santa sings the verses and bridge and Pip sings the chorus.
