It's not her name that bugs me, it's not even her music, it's her fake image. I don't sit well with people who have such a fake image about them to make money off of teens these days.

Amen!!! Everyone is mesmerized by her and I'm sitting there going wtf, she's so see through.
I hate how all the pop stars have now gone "bad", so to speak. It's the new trend. Well, what's going to happen to all of them next year when bad is out and cute and innocent is in?? 10 bucks that sometime in the next few years Christina Aguilera will change her image yet again, spitting out some crap like "I've grown up now and realize that pretty is nice again". I just read her recent Rolling Stone interview, the one where's she naked on the cover, and thought I would barf.

I'm not saying Avril Lavigne doesn't have a good voice. Her voice is very nice, so is her one good song to a point. In my opinion I wouldn't buy the single. I just don't like a fake image. And I'm not a picky person when it comes to music. I think thats why I love Tori so much. There isn't any false image. Guess I'm going to go ahead and admit that I actually like Avril. I don't like her enough to go see her live or anything, but I have her CD and there are several songs that are really good...what you hear on the radio is not all she has to offer. I agree...the whole punk skater girl routine is fake...bigtime. It doesn't really suit her songs (except maybe Sk8ter Boi) at all. I'm sure if she sticks around for more than one album, we'll see a change in her punk wannabe image. I think she has a great voice though, and anyone that sorta kinda digs her should download a couple more songs before they totally make up their minds.  Suggestions: Naked, Unwanted, I'm With You and Losing Grip. ;D |

I'll be the second to say that I enjoy Avril's music. Her voice is great (on the album at least - i haven't seen her play live yet) and I really like all of the songs. When I first got the album, I obsessed over it for about a few weeks but then Scarlet's Walk came out so obviously Avril had to take a break from the CD player.
As far as her image goes, I don't think she's a "fake" or anything. Someone once told me they thought she was a poser, but I don't think so. I think it's just the way she is.
