Billboard Reports on New Album
Finally, a media source has released a story on Fiona's new album. Billboard posted an article (Fiona Apple at Work on New Album) this afternoon which includes no new information, except that Fiona's album is likely to be released around September 2003.
Fiona to Record at Abbey Road Studios
Fiona and producer Jon Brion are traveling to England for two or three weeks to work on Fiona's album. As far as I know, all or most of Fiona's tracks are down, and they will be recording strings at Abbey Road Studios in London. Drummer Matt Chamberlain may also be coming in for a third session in L.A. once he is finished touring with Tori Amos. No word yet on when the album will be complete.
Columbiahouse.com recently added Fiona's new CD to their advance order area, including a release date of July 22nd, 2003, which they say is "subject to change." However, since Fiona and Jon have not even finished recording all of the tracks for the album, I don't believe this date to be accurate.
I found these things on fionahaswings.com, a nice page that I knew from here. so... we have to wait a few months to hear the new album!! I'm so excited!
