Just wondering if anyone else here likes this Irish singer/songwriter? His album "O" finally came out here in the U.S. just last month (it was released overseas last year) & his song Volcano is one of my favorite songs right now (thanks in part to the delightful Lisa Hannigan who does vocal accompaniment). I've downloaded many songs bits from his site, and after several listenings, his album is on my I-Need-to-Purchase-this-one-soon list. He also has some live full-length songs with video at his site (from a live show)....most of those are singles which are not on the album. bee, I just got an email from Ticketmaster telling me that Damien Rice is playing in Minneapolis in September! The tickets are pretty cheap, so I think I'm gonna go. Dashboard Confessional is coming in October! Woo hoo!

You know, I just noticed from the tour schedule that Lisa is not listed to appear with him at the MN, CO or CA shows....I can't imagine how he could do some of the songs w/out her b/c her vocals "talk back to him" in the song....hmm...

The whole darn album is great.
We've been listening to it every afternoon/evening now since I got it last weekend....even Sean is loving it (he's more a hard rock, complicated-music fan...lol) Only Sean keeps getting mixed up (either that or he likes to make me laugh) and calling him David Rice or David Gray...LOL
I'm like 'get it right'! And the album is simply titled "O", but Sean likes to get my goat by calling it "The Big O", LMAO!!! (well, it is that good...)
Super duper good stuff.

So you guys arent' hearing "Volcano" on your Alt/Indie music stations there....or aren't seeing the video for it on VH1 or MTV? I'm curious b/c they've been playing it here (in the L.A. area) in the past few weeks since the album was released here. |

Ok, for serious.....from what I've read both in reviews/interviews and from the message boards over where I've been lurking at his fansite both he and Lisa are really cool, nice, sweet folks. btw, I was one of only about 5 Americans on the message boards....it's mostly Irish folks there.... |

What's her relation to him? Friend? Friend, as far as anyone knows. The story goes that they randomly met in a coffee shop & it was a musical marriage made in heaven. Their voices together are so beautiful! She's amazing....she looks like a little thing there on stage, but the sound that comes out of her is just well, amazing! |
