Haullie and Pat, i'm back! Hey, don't get me wrong. NIN was one of the first bands i truly enjoyed, but when you start looking for Trent's background, you'll find the band that started it all: Skinny Puppy. That's a great band. What came to my attention was the fact that they don't come up as "i'm-depressed-i-hurt-myself-today" kind of band. They talk about so many different things. They make parallels between pollution and drug addiction. They talk about animal rights and vivisection. They actually have a message in their songs. And the songs are fantastic. No album is really like the previous one. Trent can even have a message in his songs from time to time, but usually he only talks about himself. That really made me tired after awhile. And, by the way, the lead singer from SP is way cuter (althought Trent and Ogre look alike a lot!). I'm not here trying to mess up with your heads, I just think we should give other bands a chance. I'm so glad i gave SP a chance. If someone gets interested, i can say some SP songs to download.

Skinny Puppy... I've heard the name somewhere I'm sure. Can't recall any songs, though. Sure, name a few songs, I'll check it out. I should first kick myself in the butt to check out NIN stuff to see what this Trent-guy is all about - I had other bands to listen to when I was an angsty teenager so I missed NIN then. Now the girlies on this thread have made me curious... Edit: Haha, man. I'm so used to seeing SP stand for Smashing Pumpkins, that I thought you suddenly referred to Billy Corgan being good looking and I was like "Why does she call him 'Ogre' He's not that scary".

hehehehehe! i think billy corgan s scary when he puts some dark make up! Ogre (Nivek Ogre, the lead singer) isn't that scary. You know, Marilyn Manson copied him when it comes to stage performances. All that blood and bandage? Ogre did it first, in the early 90's. Some songs: worlock far too frail amnesia morter killing game smothered hope spasmolytic morpheus laughing

Trent can even have a message in his songs from time to time, but usually he only talks about himself. That's why all his songs begin with an "I"!

That's why all his songs begin with an "I"! Totally! I know personal lyrics can be really good, but you don't need to make them narcissistic. Trent does that a lot, and that made me really tired. I still love NIN, though! (morpheus laughing is so cool. you can almost dance to it.)

Also check out Tin Omen. Al Jourgensen plays guitar on that one.
