belle and sebastian arent thosecharacters from disney movies? << happy disease Great. There was a reason why I don't mention them a lot... Hehehe. No they're not from Disney. The name is from this children's series from hmmm maybe the 60s and 70s called "Belle et Sebastian" by Madame Cecile Aubry. About a boy and a dog. Best friends. Pretty. We had the tv version when I was a kid but sadly can't remember much. I guess they also chose the name because a lot of their first songs talk about how Isobel and Stuart met (fiction or truth...). It's got to be fate that's doing it A spooky witch in a sexy dress has been bugging me With the story of the way it should be With the story of Sebastian and Belle the singer
I said "My one man band is over" I hit the drum for the final time and I walked away I sew you in Japanese restaurant You were doing it for business men on the piano, Belle You said it was a living Hell You said that it was Hell - My Wandering Days Are Over

If you want you can PM me your address and I can make you a "Jenni's Best of Belle and Sebastian" CD I loooove brainwashing people, especially when it comes to this band. Stuart is so... I can't find words. He's amazing. His lyrics always tell a story, that's what I love about him and this band.

ooh so many choices but my obsession is currently:
Beautiful lie ~ Amy Studt Nobody ~ Amy Studt
lol, my friend came up tonight when I had this album on and she went,
"So Lora, is this your new Tori then? You're really weird you know, it's Tori this, Tori that, you worry me with your obsession with the little red one."
I was like... "erm... no this isn't my new Tori. But Amy rocks! And anyway, I'm not obsessed with Tori...."
Blatantly lying to myself as well as her....

I've been obsessed with the whole APC 'Thirteenth Step' lately, but specifically "The Outsides", "The Nurse Who Loved Me", and "Pet". Just can't get enough...

I just want to ask everyone who has read Cry, the Beloved Country to listen to Dave Matthew's Cry Freedom Cry and place it (especially the first part) in South Africa. "Gold between divide us...fear between divide us". It's even more beautiful.

I just want to ask everyone who has read Cry, the Beloved Country to listen to Dave Matthew's Cry Freedom Cry and place it (especially the first part) in South Africa. "Gold between divide us...fear between divide us". It's even more beautiful. elizabeth! I thought of the song when I was READING the novel (b/c I've know it for years, being a DMB fan) and I now think of the novel when hearing the song. The song is one of those that just gets to the core of me....it's very beautiful and touching and makes me FEEL how good it is, even long before I read the book; just placing it in ANY world, ANY timeframe makes it beautiful, but certainly relating it to the novel makes it even more fitting. This song is among my top 5 favorites of theirs, and the album it's from is one of my top 10 favorite albums of all time b/c of this song and "#41" and the other 'thinking' songs on it...Anyway... "How can I turn away...?" what a great beginning. When I hear Dave sing "hands and feet are all alike" I get chills. And the part that really gets me is the last verse: "In this room stood a little child And in this room this little child She would remain Until someone might decide To dance this little child Across this hall Into a cold, dark, space Where she might never trace her way across this crooked mile, Across this crooked page. Cry freedom, cry From deep inside where We are all confined.... Till we wave our hands.
Oh, man the way he sings those lines... And it's so strange that I would read this this morning because LESS THAN AN HOUR ago I burned this song, (along with another DM song), for a friend here who I think will love it and appreciate it. (I almost want to say: "freaky freakage" but I'm starting to learn/know better.)"Brother, Sister go dancing through my head...."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEYBEE!!!!!!!!!! it's a great cd but you have to remember that it's not the dave matthews band and is therefore much different. stay or leave is the best. and some devil and well, like them all. it's kind of mellow and sad for the most part but sooooooo good. and #41 is absolutely the BEST and yes, you do need to really listen to it to appreciate it. i always liked it but only recently have i REALLY listened to it and now i'm absolutely OBSESSED. so so so so good. i will bring you water why won't you ever be glad? it melts into wonder well i came in praying for you why won't you run into rain and play let the tears splash all over you OMG, I'm just seeing this NOW! LOL.. We got DM over the weekend and Sean and I both really like it. So Damn Lucky is so damn good. LOL And you quoted some of my favorite lines from #41. My mostestestest favorite is simply this: I wanted to stay, I wanted to play, I wanted to loooooove you. ...and let's not forget the part right before your quote... I'll come a-waltzing back and moving into your head... Please, I wouldn't pass this by I would take any more than... What sort of man goes by?Oh darnit, now I'm gonna cry just thinking about how sweet that part is! The way he says "I will bring you water" = I'm a mess. Ok, I'm obsessed. Told ya.

*Comes over here while waiting for something to happen on a certain other thread*
I've developed a major obsession with a song called "The Least You Could Do" by a band called Inside The Outside. I've heard it half a dozen times now on a local Christian radio station, and absolutely love it. For a start it's not preachy, I can't stand that in my casual listening music.
But I can't find out a thing about this band so far. Their website is 'under construction', allmusicguide has never heard of 'em... so how on Earth did they get on Australian radio?

"A small Florida rock band. They've played since about 1997. They do shows at free Christian concerts in the Tampa Bay area." ....... The Least That You Could DoTurn the page Another day gone by as you close the door It’s all the rage Take what you can find, walk across the floor It’s 10 PM. Do you know where you are ? Turn on the light Another TV dinner. Dining alone No end in sight And you tell me true friends are hard to find And you tell me I’m just wasting my time Won’t you let Me in, see where I have been I know what you’re going through Why don’t you come out, see what I’m all about It’s that least that you could do Turn down the bed The only comforter in sight, lying in the dark Try to fall asleep Pray your soul to keep, but you don’t know what for Turning the pages in time only to find empty space When will you realize there’s still time to write in it’s place Waking up from another lonely night Coffee for one Look in the mirror, think maybe its time To step out in the sun Still you see true friends are hard to find But now you see I’m not wasting my time[/color] Here you go, honey...www.christianitytoday.com/music/reviews/2002/insidetheoutside.htmlHear song clips from the cd, from the same site above: www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product/70869619?item_no=CD00324&p=1006648www.christianpunks.com/album.php/3145www.musicrefuge.com/index.php?go=bands&band_id=209HEAR MORE OF THEIR STUFF HERE: www.spiritmusic.co.uk/acatalog/Inside_the_Outside.htmloK, Hope those help for now...
