maybe my question should be 'do your parents like enya?', cuz apparently it's an old people's thing. that having been said, i'm not 17 anymore, so i guess i do classify as old people. i've been an Enya fan since 1989 when i was 7 and was in love with 'Orinoco Flow'. my first album was 'Shepherd Moons' in 1992. since then i backtracked and never stopped buying her albums. her last record 'A Day Without Rain' was pretty standard, so i'm putting all my hopes on the new record, which should come out this year. hooray for enya.

Ahahahaha... I clicked on this thread all ready to say "yuh huh!!" and then add something like "my Dad really loves her so that's how I know of her music..."
Oh well. Who cares if most people think its a parenty thing! She still is cool. (and most 17 year olds aren't cool enough for Enya, so HA!)
But it is true that my Dad is really the big Enya fan of the family. Like, I couldn't sit here and discuss various songs of hers because I just have no clue... all I know is that when he puts on one of her albums I enjoy it.
*wanders off to litter another thread with her bullshit nonsense now*

Wish I had cool parents like that, heh. They probably don't even know Enya. Well, I myself have liked some of her stuff a lot, but am not too passionate about her. Unlike my boyfriend! He's even done some kind of a string arrangement of one of her songs to be played at some wedding, bahahah. He knows her stuff way better than I do.

I love Enya. AND I'M 17, DAMNIT!! I've got A Day Without Rain, Paint The Sky With Stars, and the four-disc Greatest set. And the person that turned me on to Enya is 6 months younger than me.. and she did it when we were both about 14 or so.

You're obviously one of those very few 17 year olds that are cool enough for Enya (though, we already knew you didn't have crap taste anyway!)

I think Enya is the kind of music that is timeless, and age doesn't seem to matter. It's more a question if one is interested in that sort of music in general. But a big woo yay to all Enya lovers, all ages

I LOVE Enya!! I was 16 years old when I first started listening to Enya. A friend of mine (also 16) played her Watermark album for me and I fell in love with it.
I can't wait for her new CD!

which means it's gonna take at least another year or so to come out. only bad thing about her music is that it takes so much time to finish it. still, she's falling behind in schedule. she usually takes between 3-4 years to release a new album. 'A Day Without Rain' came out in 2000, she should have a new one ready for us already.

just browsing through old threads to see what people have talked before I joined the board... gotta say something on this (coz I got nothing better to do ) Well, I bought one of Enya's albums (memory of trees) when I was about 15... I just loved that album... haven't really listened to anything (made) before or after that, but I'm sure I'd like it all, I'm not too picky in (good) music...

Sorry to say this, but Enya just annoys the shit out of me. I like that type of music too, I don't know. I'm not saying Enya isn't talented or anything it's just that I don't have an interest in her music. Maybe it's just me! Haha.

I find Enya very soothing to the ear. Her voice is so angelic. She is one of my favorite ways to go to sleep. I think Enya is somewhat "universal" when it comes to her music, touching many on different levels.

i love enya! her music sooths me! i have all of her albums on mp3 (right now i'm listening to orinoco flow). If i want to listen to enya's music i really have to be in an 'enya mood' though.

If i want to listen to enya's music i really have to be in an 'enya mood' though. i'm always in an Enya mood... but strangely enough, it depends on the weather. when it's sunny outside Orinoco Flow makes me feel in the best place in the world. when it's rainy, it makes me long to be somewhere else, far out in the sea... she has that effect on most people, i guess.
