i probably mispelled her blessed name. www.bbc.co.uk/totp/video/click there, scroll to the bottom of the page, look under "2 weeks ago", it's the last video. quite dreadful, if you ask me. here's what BBC had to say about the video the week it came out: "We see what you're doing here Hayles. Shaking your locks, dramatically draping your shawl whilst running round a castle. Yes, you really are Cathy! Just one prob, it looks like a parody of Kate Bush, who actually wrote the song. Hoo-rah." quite an accurate description it is, too! |

Oh my god ahahahahhaha! I had to look away because I got so embarrased for her! Listen Hayley: If you're going to cover a song which is originally performed in a very personal voice in a very personal way you better do a completely different rendering of it and not just try to copy the original... (Tori is a good case in point of an artist who's followed this rule). Especially if you sound like you have a frog in your throat blocking the voice!

I told you guys before that she looks like an absolute wanker when she performs... and that's only little songs here and there I've seen on tv - I shudder to think what an actual video would be like.
I hope I don't stumble across it on tv anytime soon.

look, you guys know me well enough to know it takes a lot to make me trash a Kate Bush song. wait, i wouldn't ever do that. to trash a Kate Bush cover version. i like all the ones out there. even Charlotte Martin's version of 'Cloudbusting' (i say even because she changed the lyrics of the song and it annoys the hell out of me even if her version is good), i can take that one. but this chic completely destroyed one of the best songs of modern rock. there is no excuse for what she's done. the close up of her face at the beginning of the video makes me think she's a member of Twisted Sister.  |
