4. Andrew Bird - The Misproduction of Eggs giggle!! And Pat, a friend just gave me a copy of Come on feel the Illinoise, and I am seriously digging it! The song titles alone...omg. Ok, it's been a while since I've done this, so I should be able to come up with something: 1. Hit ~Peter Gabriel 2. Stand Up ~Dave Matthews Band 3. X&Y ~Coldplay 4. Sleeps Like A Curse ~The Panics 5. Fractions ~Decoder Ring

5. Wilco - Yankee Foxtrot Hotel (something like that..) LOL, I used to get it mixed up all the time, too. It's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, or YHF. Named after the call letters of a short-wave radio station (part of a large group of stations set up by Isreal's intelligence agency) that Jeff Tweedy listened to and was influenced by when Wilco made the album. The soundclip of the woman saying "Yankee.... Hotel.... Foxtrot" at the end of the song "Poor Places" is actually a fake female voice, synthesized from computers, exactly as on the radio station. All the radio stations have 3-letter names and have "female" voices broadcasting them like that. There's a general theme of 'relationships' that defines the album and the idea of a voice being broadcast, without knowing whether the message was ever received, is certainly exemplary of what can happen in relationships, too. I remember reading a lot about the ideas behind the album shortly after I got mine and being completely fascinated by all of it. Anyway, this is one of my top favorite albums. Hels, I'm glad you're loving Sufjan. I have a few of his albums but not the latest 'Noise' yet. Yeah, his song titles are really something. I can't wait til he does California. Should be interesting... I can see it now: "Get Your Kicks On Route 66 But Be Careful of the Endless Construction and the Detour That Might Land You In The La Brea Tarpits" "The Day The Nimitz Lay Down For a Crushing Nap and How Baseball Lessened the Tragedy" "Ode to Curb of Main Street: We Wait For The Electrical Parade to Light Us Up And Lead Us To The Big World After All Where People Aren't Wooden Dummies" "Malibu, Malibu, Where For Art Thou Malibu? Under Fire and Soot? Slid Through Rock and Mud? "If I Could, I'd Wrap My Arms Around You Like John Muir Hugged Hetch-Hetchy" "Oh Gilroy, Garlic Capital Of The World, How We Clove Thee While We Eat Your Ice Cream" "Dude, Grab A Bucket And A Blanket, The Grunion Are Running Tonight and Ruby's Is Open Late" "On A Table In A House On A Hill On a Vineyard Sits A Bottle From A Year Of Grapes My Grandpa Grew, Breathing Across The Entire Napa Valley Like An Aromatic Elegy" "Praise The Caffeinated Heavens! Our Street Corner Finally Has Its Own Starbucks So I Won't Have To Drive My SUV Two Blocks Away For My Thrice-Daily Half Double Decaffeinated Half-Caf Mochachino With a Twist of Lemon To Go Please" [Note: this would have to be track 13 on the album] "2,000 Doors and 10,000 Windows For Sarah, The Woman Of Mystery Who Climbed the Stairs To Nowhere" "Semiconductors Created A Silicon Valley While Semisurgeons Created Silicone Valleys And The Two Valleys Merged In Chatsworth, With Much Internet 'Applause'" "Owens and Imperial, How Thirsty Our Thirst Has Made You" " Eureka! I Have Found The Treasures, Timber! Now They All Fall Down" "We Counted the Poppies As We Waved Goodbye To Shasta and Left Siskiyou, One Flower For Me and One For You... And One For the Grizzly Bear Chasing Us" LOL, Look, that's half an album worth of titles for him right there! I could go on and on... although where I left off is a good place for Sufjan to pick up with Oregon. This was fun. I seriously cannot remember the last albums I've bought. They were undoubtedly for someone else... probably Audioslave's latest for Sean and my sister, as well as SOAD's latest.

Hehe, I'm glad somebody (besides me) got a kick out of those. Tell Jodi hi for me. Maz, she LOVED them!! These are her words in an email: "HOLY CRAP! She's a genius! They are fecking brilliant! *laughing so hard* You need to respond for his potential Australian assault!" Then the next day in the car, she said, "Man, how did she do that?! They're all so good! She must really know California..." I told her you're a genius - I felt very proud!

I almost brought a tori TVAB vinyl today but it was $45, its by far my favorite tori album but thats just too steep! I'm having a similar dilema with the Lateralus vinyl. I want it SOO bad but to get it here it's somewhere around $80 because the only decent shop that sells vinyl rip you the fuck off when they import stuff. It's disgusting. I hear the going rate for it in Aussie is $60-something bucks. A friend of mine got the limited edition for about $40 through some kind of employee discount, but I'd even pay $60 for it. Ok. I'm gonna shut up about it now. And just go cry in a corner or something.
