I checked their website and it looks like they've already have some alternative dates. Either that or these were the show bracketing Lollapalooza. I think I remember the Pine Knob shows being on in late July, tho.
Here they are:
07/16/04 CHICO, CA SENATOR THEATRE 07/23/04 PHOENIX, AZ CELEBRITY THEATER 07/30/04 BLOOMINGTON, IN AXIS BLOOMINGTON 08/06/04 MONTREAL, CANADA THE RIALTO 08/19/04 PORTSMOUTH, VA HARBOR CENTER CITY AMPITHEATER 09/17/04 AUSTIN, TX STUBB'S BAR-B-Q 09/18/04 AUSTIN, TX AUSTIN CITY LIMITS MUSIC FESTIVAL- ZILKER PARK
Hopefully they will add a Michigan date as things progress.

Shoot! I was hoping Chico would be close enough for you and Mary to see 'em. Well, we will have to see if they put out more dates.
I dunno. Been okay, I guess. Last night and this morning Wolfgang started throwing up so that has me all worried, cuz that was one of the symptoms of his brother's kidney problems. I might bring him to the vet tomorrow morning.
How've you and Mary been?

YAY for the recent action on this thread!!! Karl, I hope Wolfgang is ok. ♥ Hels, I'm quite certain now that Jodi is one of the coolest girls ever. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for dates, Karl. And guess what?!... MODEST MOUSE IS COMING TO L.A.!!!!!And I'm cracking up because the date they'll be here, July 18 is a Sunday and that's the date I'm putting on the bridal shower for my little sis who's getting married! Bahaha, she strikes again!!!!!!! (We missed the APC concert because she had to go and change the date of her engagement party) BUT! They will be doing another show the following night, July 19th, at the Wiltern (also in L.A.). So, I think Sean needs to come come early from work that day... and we can head down to the city and do some live MM lovin'. Tix go on sale this Wednesday. I'm a happy little bitter buffalo. heh.

Double-Hooray! They added a second show for Sunday night, August 1st. Since I have to get up real early to teach class on Tuesday, the Monday night show was looking like a real bear. So I drove to Royal Oak today and got me a ticket. It's GA and I might go early to see if I can get up front. I am such a seating snob now. Kind of weird going to see a band I've never heard or have any albums of. Means I won't be able to post a set list (bleh). They must be good cuz MARY SAID SO!! (BTW: This is my 500th post. Not in the multi-thousands like you all but.... QUALITY OVER QUANTITY!! )

Not in the multi-thousands like you all but.... QUALITY OVER QUANTITY!! ) Karl! Happy 500th, first of all. Quality, indeed. I was thinking last week that I should do a quick-burn of some of their tunes and drop them in the mail for you.... Darn that I forgot to put that on my official to-do list, otherwise I would have actually done it and you'd at least be somewhat acquainted with their music! You can search for downloads on the net, and of course sample their stuff from their site. I'll have to see what songs they play at your show afterward... Try to remember if there's anything you particularly like when you hear it! lol They'll most likely do a bunch from their latest album but they've been doing a fair amount of songs from their previous album (the Moon and Antarctica) as well as some oldies but goodies. Here are songs (the short list!) I'd recommend for download if you have the time and/or inclination to do so: Float On The World At Large Satin In A Coffin Ocean Breathes Salty Bury Me With It The Good Times Are Killing Me ------------------- (^those are all from the latest album, and they play those most often) Third Planet (they play this one often, it's one of their best songs, IMHO) Gravity Rides Everything (the Nissan commercial song... lol... they don't play it live often now) Tiny Cities Made of Ashes (awesome song, I want to hear this live!) The Stars are Projectors I Came As A Rat Head South Custom Concern Breakthrough Doin' the Cockroach (they play this one often-- very big favorite) Dan the Cowboy (another popular favorite they like to play) Night On the Sun Bankrupt on Selling (popular encore song) Or... you can just go and be completely surprised... hopefully in a good way! LOL Either way, HAVE A BLAST!...Oh, and I'll cross my fingers that you get a good snobby seat!

(I feel like I could pee my pants right now!) Yep!!!! ;D I got the same e-mail. We TiVo'd it. Float On was "okay" (the coolest part was all the extra peopel shaking shaker things, lol), but Ocean Breathes Salty was SUPER! We loved it. My son danced around and did his Isaac Brock imitation the entire time, so it was extra entertaining. ;D
