I knew if I went far enough, there'd be a thread on them but a year back is too far... simply to say: love 'em, don't you just as well?? What's your favourite album/song? Mine is either the boatman's call or no more shall we part (albums)... favourite song is harder to decide on... "15 feet of pure white snow" and from the older ones "do you love me" are examples of great songs, but there's so many more... "little empty boat" is also one of my favourites... and did you know: "The Nick Cave and Bad Seeds "B-Sides and Rarities" album will now be released on February 7th 2005" www.nickcaveandthebadseeds.com/

I'm sure Mary will be hitting this thread very, very soon.. Myself, the only album I have bought and listened to a lot so far is Murder Ballads... But I've recently been given a bunch of their other cds to listen to, so am currently trying to get through them as speedily as life allows.. Ok I'll leave this to people that really know what the fuck they're talking about now

LOL, Aimee! Yes, I enjoy their music quite a bit and YES! I did read about the rarities thing set to come out next year! (Though it was originally supposed to come out this year, wasn't it?) I still need to get the "God Is In The House" dvd thing (I'm dying to see the making of that album)... plus they've got the new Videos dvd now that I'll end up getting eventually. Favorite album is No More Shall We Part, most definitely. I listen to that quite a bit. Love the whole thing. 'Fifteen Feet Of Pure White Snow' ROCKS! 'Love Letter' is wonderful...'Hallelujah' and 'We Came Along This Road' are awesome...'God Is In the House' creeps me out in the best way.... Gosh, it's hard to pick favorites from that album!! But I have several favorite songs that come from all the albums, really. 'The Ship Song' is a very top favorite, as is 'Straight To You'. Love his 'Helpless', 'There Is A Town', and of the new b-sides, 'Everything Must Converge' has grown on me quite nicely. And I like both 'Do You Love Me's! I quite like many of their covers, too. I could go on and on.... I've introduced a couple other people here to some Nick Cave tunes and I know at least one of them has some opinions of the music. PS- Oh, and the old Nick Cave thread was pretty funny, if I remember correctly, because Mallory tells a cute story about her friend meeting Nick Cave in an awkward position.

I was laughing my heart out yesterday night while reading it... my boyfriend was asking me what's so funny and I showed it to him... he didn't find it that funny... ;D but at least he loves Nick Cave's music even more than me... he's the one who got me into it.

... he didn't find it that funny... ;D LOL, Well at least YOU got it! Maybe you gotta be a girl and have that feeling like you've been a corpse (or wanted desperately to be a corpse, dying a painless instant death from sheer humiliation) at least once to fully appreciate how funny that was. I LMAO, that's all I know!

So, The Lyre of Orpheus/Abattoir Blues... is it not simply the best Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds album ever?!
I received the copy of the album (my wonderful boyfriend Henry was kind enough to send it to me) last week and been listening to it since... I simply love it! Can't wait till November 24th and the concert... actually Henry is seeing them tonight in Helsinki!

Boy do I feel out of it. I think the only Nick Cave albums I have listened to are Kickin' Against The Pricks, From Her to Eternity, Henry's Dream and Murder Ballads. All of which I enjoyed a great deal, but they are just so long ago now. I guess I should try to get caught up.

I'm absolutely certain from all our conversations now that you'll LOVE it! ;D Also, I *know* I posted a comment to Tanja (Lemon Pie) about Nick Cave somewhere earlier today and I thought it was on this thread, but I guess I'm lost... Anyway, Tanja, the album doesn't come out here til the end of October. I'm DYING to get my hands on it.

Ok, I've probably lstened to the Nocturama album more than any other one Mary burned for me, but "There is a Town" is just hitting me. Tomorrow I will probably declare it as the song I'm currently obsessed with. I think it should be on a soundtrack...

He hee
There is a town is also my favourite from Nocturama... btw Mary, have you listened to the clips from the official website or do yo want to wait for the real thing? Anyways, I think there are better songs on the album than those that have clips of them... I hope the month will go quickly and that your views are close to mine as I simply love the new album!

I've seen the Nature Boy video and heard all the clips, yep. I've also sampled the entire album in my record store. They have and advanced copy there. I only took about 10 minutes doing it, so it was quick (considering it's a double album), but I really love the whole thing from what I've heard. Nick's on my "gonna buy any new releases from this artist on the day they come out" list. ;D Thanks for wishing the month to go quickly for me!

I knew you would! I do too! O Mamma indeed! LMAO at the line in that song toward the end... what Eurydice says to Orpheus when they're both "down the well"... If you play that f-ing thing down here, I'll stick it up your orifice!" Makes me crack up everytime! Seriously, though, I love the story-telling on that album... and in this song, particularly, where the sad tale from Greek mythology gets slightly demented in ture Nick Cave form. ;D O, Mamma! Also, did you see they are putting out a double A-side next week?! There She Goes My Beautiful World/ Breathless (remixed) The cd single will feature the exclusive b-side song, "Under The Moon". Hoooraaayyyy! ...Let the belllllls ring........ ♪
