'Kay. Now I think I have a grip on things. I hope Hellfire doesn't mind if I blatantly steal from his shining example because math is not my strong suit. Heh. lol, i wouldn't trust my math skills too much either if i were you! by the way, i absolutely love your list. it's what's been most similar to mine so far, i gather. i love exactly 30 out of your 60 songs. some of them are even in my list! ps. EDIT FOR MARY: I all of a sudden realized, going through my list, that #16 and #40 were the same song, so i replaced the latter with Doth I Protest Too Much, just in case you thought i wouldn't mess with the list again. not that i intended to. ps. and hooray, i was the first one! not that it matters, i just wanted to celebrate it. hey Mary, are you gonna do some crazy useless statistics for us? like, who had more songs off a list in the final 50, or what artist (other than Tori) showed up most often or what song was in most lists? not that you have to, i'm just wondering.

Hello Hellfire,
Nice to hear there's a little support for kd lang and suzanne vega.
I am amazed in some ways if any part of my list matches up with anyone else at all. Heck, I wouldn't expect the list I submitted to match up at all with the list I would draw up today either.
Well, waiting for the results with bated breath,
Dennis

LOL Like we didn't know this was going to happen, Merman-hater! god, i hate that tune. and oh yea, dennis, i'm sure there'll be at least one Suzanne Vega song in the list. she's quite big around here! hopefully KD Lang will make the cut too. i love Constant Craving to pieces.

Uh, you guys... I've been meaning to pop in here all week... just been too busy. Here's the deal: I've started to tally songs and I really don't think it's going to take me as long as I originally thought to get to a final list... HOWEVER, I'm going to leave this open for yet another week. I know, it's dumb since everyone's been considering it "closed", but there's at least one more person who never got to post a list... and honestly, I never finalized mine completely. So, yeah, I'm doing it for partly selfish reasons, lol So, the official word is now: THIS THREAD IS STILL OPEN FOR NOMINATIONS AND/OR EDITS UNTIL NOVEMBER 14.Then, the results should come fairly quickly after that. (Don't throw tomatoes at me, ok?) -Mary

I wish I could've sat down and tried to figure out the rules to this, it just always seemed so complicated to me. maybe I'm just stoopid . xo

I was mainly working on it to keep me busy, but maybe I'll actually post it in time! LOL.

I wish I could've sat down and tried to figure out the rules to this, it just always seemed so complicated to me. maybe I'm just stoopid . xo Your not... it's just that Mary wrote her simple instructions in the most complicated and longwinded way ( )... Basicly you just nominate as many songs you want and give them points that add up to 500 points... max 25 points per song. I was lazy and just listed songs until they reached fifty and gave each 10 points... (or maybe I didn't get the instructions at all )

TANJA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so loving the new Nick Cave... I can't even tell you how much! I almost put that avatar up in my profile the other day! LOL! And I've got the Abattoir Blues, too, baby! (seriously, this is his/their best work, I think!) I hope you have a BLAST at the upcoming show. I'm freaking out at just the thought of hearing songs like "Cannibal's Hymn" or "Breathless" live! Whaaah, lucky you!!!
Ahem, what was I saying? oh yes... the game thing...
I'm glad some of you are taking advantage of the extended deadlines to get your lists in!
nattie, what Tanja said. LOL Just make a list of songs you like... pick 100 songs or 50 songs or even just 25 songs (minimum) and I'll do the math for you (and let you know if you've stayed within all the rules). I want you to play!

I'm working on this... ;D Deadline is less than 2 hours away. Trevor, I know your list was in-progress and about half of them were only 'possibles'... I was going to just score them anyway and make it work, but YOU DIDN'T GIVE ME 25 SONGS! (only 20 if I count everything you mentioned) Boo. If you show up in the next 1.6 hours or so, I hope you'll finalize it so I can include your list. Otherwise... Sorry, babe! Paulo, I got your edit. Thanks!

Rock On, Helen!!!! ;D (I just got the Frou Frou cd and I've always loved Shh... now I love it still/more! It's so good!) Oh, I'm so glad you picked this up Mayr. I've been quietly obsessing over this album for a while now. I got it when I was in England last year, and sadly it became the soundtrack to the break-up cos I was playing it so much when I got back. I thought if I keep playing it, the association would slowly die, and it almost has, thank heavens. (Just gotta iron out 'Hear Me Out' now!! But it's fine ) I know that Mandy loves Frou Frou too. Yay!

NEARLY AS LAST-MINUTE AS POSSIBLE>>> Technically it is nearly 2am where I am, but it is still not past midnight 11/15 in Mary-land (PST), LOL!!!! Anyway, I finally finished my list. You may notice that there is no Tori in it. That's because it would have taken another few months to figure out a way to have a list that included a limited amount of her stuff to leave some room for other artists! I also had a tough time cutting down my list to 50 songs (i figured that each one deserved at least 10 points, so I skipped the 100-song idea). There was no way I could cut it down even further than that to allow different amounts of points, so they are ten points each. I put it in roughly alphabetical order, so that I wouldn't have to figure out which ones I like most. So (drumroll please...), here's my list: Fiona Apple – Carrion The Beatles – A Day in the Life The Beatles – Blackbird Bjork – Human Behaviour Bjork – Alarm Call Coldplay – The Scientist The Cure – Lovesong The Cranberries – Daffodil Lament Dead Can Dance – The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove The Doors – Love Her Madly Dave Matthews Band - Satellite Everclear – Strawberry Fleetwood Mac – Landslide Frou Frou – Let Go Godsmack – Spiral Green Day – Brain Stew Jimi Hendrix – All Along the Watchtower Jack Johnson – The Horizon Has Been Defeated Jefferson Airplane – White Rabbit Loreena McKennitt – Mystic’s Dream Nine Inch Nails – I’m Looking Forward to Joining You, Finally Nirvana – All Apologies Nirvana – Lithium Nirvana – Breed No Doubt – Sunday Morning A Perfect Circle – Pet A Perfect Circle – Blue Pearl Jam – Why Go Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here Pink Floyd – Brain Damage Poe – Spanish Doll Portishead – Wandering Star Portishead – Numb REM – Leave Radiohead – Paranoid Android Radiohead – Idioteque Radiohead – There There Staind – Epiphany Stone Temple Pilots – Kitchenware & Candybars System of a Down - Boom Tool – Forty-Six & 2 Tool – Aenima Tool – Parabol VAST – Pretty When You Cry VAST – Touched Violent Femmes – American Music Weezer – Keep Fishin’ White Stripes – The Hardest Button to Button White Stripes – Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine Neil Young – Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World

Hey, peeps... Everyone who either started a list or said they would submit a list did finalize theirs EXCEPT for: Trevor (partial list makes it only partially useful and makes me only partially happy, lol) and Miranda (no list still!...you get an eye kick, missy!) and Mandy (understandable, dear). and Sam (also understandable, especially this week.) I will allow ONLY those 4 people a 24 hour grace period to finish and post their lists (if they still want to) here before I begin the final counting.Because I'm the rules-maker and I'm nice. I will notify those 4 people by PM AND e-mail. ;D Stay tuned... Thanks to EVERYONE who turned in a list on time. As of now, we have 19 lists! ;D
