Does anyone else listen to her? I think she's wonderful. Her music is hard to classify, but it is a little bit Appalachian bluegrass music (some songs), some are more regular or whatever, but she is the best lyricist...She hardly ever sings from her own point of view, and the characters she imagines are really beautiful. In that way, I would compare her to Tom Waits...she tells these beautifully detailed stories with beautiful characters...a little bit like Bob Dylan, but I like her a lot better. Anyone else?

I saw a special about her on CMT towards the end of the summer and was quite intrigued. They played little snippets of some of her songs and I really liked what I heard. I believe she just had a concert here in Minneapolis not too long ago, but I missed it. Anyway, once I have money, I'd love to buy an album of hers so I can check her out. What would you recommend, Elizabeth?

I think I would recommend Revival. I don't know how to burn cds or I would for you. I listen to a lot of "country" music but it's not like the country music on the radio. For instance, I really love Lyle Lovett, and I like The Grateful Dead and Phish, who play a lot of bluegrassy stuff, but who you wouldn't call country. I love The Allmans too. I think you would like Gillian, Carly. Let me know as soon as you can listen to her
