I just bought this album after falling completely in love with Medúlla... so... what do you guys who have it think of it? I'm rather partial to It's Not Up To You... "rather partial" meaning "obsessed with" of course. C'mon, people... I'm a new Björk fan here... so feed my obsession with rationalization as to how awesome this album is

LOL You are absolutely insane!
Anyways, the big Björkos - Jenni and Tanja - haven't been on too much from what I've seen lately... maybe that explains it...

ahhh...vespertine...that's the love album...imo...very nice...i really enjoy it...i like pagan poetry myself...exquisite! if you're an emerging bjork fan, i suggest you get her greatist hits album...that's the one i started with and it has a nice selection of bjork (obviously, if it's her greatest hits, duh!) but yeah, i'd check that one out too, if i were you...

i don't like this album at all. you soooooo should've bought Post and Homogenic instead. those 2 are the best albums she has. but hey, if you like Vespertine (i love 'Pagan Poetry' by the way), you're most certainly gonna love the others.

yees... haven't been around, it's true and when I think of Vespertine I think of how bad a fan I am... I simply don't remember which songs I like best, which songs even are on the album, because I haven't listened to it for such a long time... for me the problem is that I love so many different types of music that even with the music I like most (like Björk, Tori, Nick Cave etc etc) I listen to the albums for awhile, looove them and move on to next thing I love more and don't have enough time to go back often enough... THERE IS TOO MUCH GREAT MUSIC IN THIS WORLD!
BUT stiil Vespertine is my absolute favourite Björk album, even though my favourite songs might be from other albums, it is best as a whole. For songs (after doing some semiserious reminiscing) I'd say I love Cocoon for the lyrics, and other favourites are Heirloom and Our hand (of course, Pagan Poetry, Hidden Place and It's not up to you are also wonderful as the rest as well ;D)

I aboslutely Vespertine, it is Bjork's best album in my opinion. It is so peaceful and serene and her vocals and the music is just phenomenal.

i can't believe i'm only seeing this thread now. i LOVE "vespertine". imo, it's björk's best work yet... i love the way it flows. my favourites include "hidden place", "it's not up to you" and of course "pagan poetry". i also find "frosti" really cute...

I just discovered BJORk im in love with Bachelorette, what other songs are like this one??? Oh, poor you for not discovering Björk earlier. I think Isobel (from Post) and Jóga are perhaps close to Bachelorette... Anyways, I personally love her whole production and especially Vespertine, so that might be a nice album to listen. Check Björks website: www.bjork.com! You can watch loads of her videos there in full lenght to hear the hit songs... if you're not familiar with them.
