Mine is Opiate. I only have two Tool albums so far so I don't have too much to base my opinion on. OpiateChoices always were a problem for you. What you need is someone strong to guide you. Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow, what you need is someone strong to use you... like me, like me.
If you want to get your soul to heaven, trust in me. Don't judge or question. You are broken now, but faith can heal you. Just do everything I tell you to do. Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow. Let me lay my holy hand upon you.
My God's will becomes me. When he speaks out, he speaks through me. He has needs like I do. We both want to rape you.
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life. Open my eyes and blind me with your light and your lies.

Some more scary lyrics...since reddy is reading them. SoberThere's a shadow just behind me, shrouding every breath I take, making every promise empty, pointing every finger at me. Waiting like a stalking butler who upon the finger rests. Murder now the path called "must we" just before the son has come. Jesus, won't you fucking whistle something but the past and done?
Why can't we not be sober? I just want to start this over. Why can't we drink forever. I just want to start things over.
I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile. I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well. I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave, I will work to elevate you just enough to bring you down.
Trust me.
Mother Mary won't you whisper something but what's past and done.
Trust me.
I want what I want.

I love Sober.
It's incredibly haunting and moving.
And, yes, scary.
I think maybe 2 years ago I may not have understood this, much less said it, and right now it looks like something Aims would say... but..
Maynard is my favoritest scary-voice person.
Oh, hell yeah.

Anyway, gotta answer the thread question! It's taken me about 7 years to get to this point, but sometime late-ish last year I FINALLY came to a conclusion on my favourite Tool song... Forty Six & 2 My shadow's Shedding skin and I've been picking Scabs again. I'm down Digging through My old muscles Looking for a clue.
I've been crawling on my belly Clearing out what could've been. I've been wallowing in my own confused And insecure delusions For a piece to cross me over Or a word to guide me in. I wanna feel the changes coming down. I wanna know what I've been hiding in
My shadow. Change is coming through my shadow. My shadow's shedding skin I've been picking My scabs again.
I've been crawling on my belly Clearing out what could've been. I've been wallowing in my own chaotic And insecure delusions.
I wanna feel the change consume me, Feel the outside turning in. I wanna feel the metamorphosis and Cleansing I've endured within
My shadow Change is coming. Now is my time. Listen to my muscle memory. Contemplate what I've been clinging to. Forty-six and two ahead of me.
I choose to live and to Grow, take and give and to Move, learn and love and to Cry, kill and die and to Be paranoid and to Lie, hate and fear and to Do what it takes to move through.
I choose to live and to Lie, kill and give and to Die, learn and love and to Do what it takes to step through.
See my shadow changing, Stretching up and over me. Soften this old armor. Hoping I can clear the way By stepping through my shadow, Coming out the other side. Step into the shadow. Forty six and two are just ahead of me.
Of course, I have a lot of other favourites, and I think as time goes by there'll be another song to replace this one as top dog. Btw, Carly - I luff you for starting a Tool thread I was actually thinking about starting one myself lately, but am waiting till we have some sorta concrete info on possible release dates etc... it's GOING to be this year, I just know it. Some of the things I've been reading about the new material is SOOOO EXCITING!!! So yeah - maybe in a few months the major obsessing can begin Can't wait

Fav tool song for me at the moment would be either "H", "Jimmy", "Pushit" or "You Lied"
I'd love to see them live: from the bootlegs I've seen of there's they seem to put on an impressive show, both musically and visually. Still waiting for the official DVD
P.S - If any of you see TOOL - sacramento 98 for trade or sale get it, its well worth having, it almost looks pro-shot due to there being 3 camera angles, the songs on it are good too.

You know "You Lied" is a song by the band Justin was in before Tool eh? You should check out their album "Giving Birth To A Stone".. the band's name is Peach. It's got some weird and some great songs on it ;D And don't worry - I'm sure you'll get to see them soon enough! New album is supposedly coming out around July or August, so you know there's gonna be a tour following that... so... next year the should be down NZ/Aus way at least once (they came twice in 2 years on the last tour, it was awesome). Haven't seen the Sacramento bootleg. Have got London 1997 and Rhode Island 1992 on dvd, though. The London one is great.

I've heard a little bit of peach and like them, I never knew "you lied" was a peach song though, I may just have to buy their album now I know it is, thanks for the info Heres all my tool bootleg videos... Hehe the Philadelphia 1992 one sounds interesting if it's better camera angles than the Rhode Island one... damn that bloody pole!! Ahh.. it's cool though, Maynard looks so aggro, I love it.
You live in Melbourne right? Did you buy those bootlegs from somewhere? I got mine in Melbourne at Peril Underground, when I was over there last November... we don't have any shops here in NZ that sell bootleg dvds like that.
Would you be willing to do a trade for that Sacramento dvd? It looks like the only one I have that you don't is the London 1997 one, which in my opinion is fantastic.. I'm not just saying that as a selling point or anything. Yeah the sound quality has it's shoddy moments but for me it's worth it just for some of the geeky things Maynard says/does (like flipping that guy that runs on the stage during Pushit... then he sits on him for the rest of the song). Anyway, that's assuming you have a dvd burner and are able to do that. If not, no worries ;D I'll just do a bit of investigative work and see if I can download it somewhere.
P.S. yeah, definately check out some more Peach songs... "Dougal" and "Spasm" are really good (and "Catfood" is kinda funny)

"Dougal" and "Spasm" are really good (and "Catfood" is kinda funny) Yes I would like the london 97 one, I'll copy all mine for you if you want, they've all been encoded to avi. so the whole lot will fit onto 3 DVD's although if you dont have a DVD player in your computer I can re-encode them to VOB files so you can play them on a normal DVD player (that may take a while though). OK, I'm gonna majorly hijack this thread now and turn it into a bootleg list LOL I have a whole bunch of other Videos you might want as well such as: tori amos - Live at lowel (avi) Unplugged 96 (DVD) Europe 98 [includes: live at the pinkpop fest holland 98 + some of the live in belgium 98 performance and interview + the Glastonbury concert] (DVD) Live from montrial (avi) Live at florida 96 [terrible picture quality bootleg, good sound though] (avi) Live from new york 97 (avi) and (VHS) Oxygen Concert (avi) 5.5 weeks tour (avi) VH1 hard rock live (avi) VH1 storytellers (avi) About an hour worth of random tori clips from things like the david letterman show etc. + a few more tori amos ones, cant seem to find them though... gonna keep looking till I do. Tori Bootleg audio CD's - In the breeze I touch myself Unlicensed dew drop in tour 96 saint and sinner I got other videos too like lots of Bill Hicks, some NIN, some Goldfrapp, RATM Mazzy Star, Fiona Apple, Mr Bungle, Coil, Beastie Boys and many more.

If you're gonna be sending me 3 dvds though, I gotta send more than just London 1997 in return! I don't have much in the way of bootlegs (apart from Tool, only got Pearl Jam, APC and some Janes Addiction one I've not actually watched yet).. got a lot of normal music dvds though.. dunno where to start with listing them - so I'll try and make a little list tomorrow when I'm not so tired.

Okay, I've seen this thread sitting here for a while and I was thinking, "How the hell will I ever be able to answer that one??!!!"
I love Sober, and Eulogy, and I'm obsessed with Lateralus because I love that Danney Carey likes to play around with numbers (if you don't know what I'm talking about, surf the web for that song and the term "Fibonacci number sequence") but anyway I don't think they beat out my 3 (hey, I'm lucky I could narrow it down THAT far) favorites:
H 46&2 Aenima
"H" may very well be my favorite, but that just may be for the moment because sometimes I like one of the other two better. (That's the one quoted in my sig right now). I guess I'm afraid to commit to just one! This is about as difficult for me as choosing a favorite Tori song, you know!!!
H. What's coming through is alive. What's holding up is a mirror. But what's singing songs is a snake Looking to turn this piss to wine.
They're both totally void of hate, But killing me just the same.
The snake behind me hisses What my damage could have been. My blood before me begs me Open up my heart again.
And I feel this coming over like a storm again. Considerately.
Venomous voice, tempts me, Drains me, bleeds me, Leaves me cracked and empty. Drags me down like some sweet gravity.
The snake behind me hisses What my damage could have been. My blood before me begs me Open up my heart again.
And I feel this coming over like a storm again.
I am too connected to you to Slip away, to fade away. Days away I still feel you Touching me, changing me, And considerately killing me.
Without the skin, Beneath the storm, Under these tears The walls came down.
And the snake is drowned and As I look in his eyes, My fear begins to fade Recalling all of those times.
I could have cried then. I should have cried then.
And as the walls come down and As I look in your eyes My fear begins to fade Recalling all of the times I have died and will die. It's all right. I don't mind.
I am too connected to you to Slip away, to fade away. Days away I still feel you Touching me, changing me,
And considerately killing me.

[/i] [/quote] Aaaaaaaaaahhh omg I love that part soo much.... Lol as if on cue, Undertow came on itunes just as I clicked into this thread! Wooooo! Ooh and I had one of those VERY rare, unexpected Tool moments last night.... When they were playing random music before the bands came out last night for Velvet Revolver, I heard TWO Tool songs... Schism was on before the opening act, then Sober while we were waiting for VR. They played really good songs in general actually... a bit of Alice In Chains, Deftones, AC/DC.. I was in heaven, basically. shut up shut up shut up, you're saturating meeeeee....
