Time for a Pulp thread

The lead singer of this band is as crazy as I like them to be, but also as sensitive as I want them to be.

This band no longer exists. Jarvis Cocker once said "The top is not the place I prefer".

I can relate to any single song he wrote. Here are lyrics that may strike a chord in some of you.

The song is called A Little Soul. It's taken from what I consider of of the two albums I prefer ever: This Is Hardcore.

The album Common People is still among my all-time-favorite albums. I seem to have Pulp-cycles, and I need to hear the album every now and then.

Putting on the song Mis-shapes and Misfits is a good start for a party!

Fun fact: we adopted this band as a kind of a theme band because my friend lived in a suburb called Pulp!

And, just like when I saw that video for Common People the other week, reading those lyrics made me remember a song that I'd almost totally forgotten.

Lol... I think I needa stop bargain-hunting and just pay full price for an album already. Coz I really feel like listening to them now

Ok, I'm stupid. The album I have is of course Different Class, not Common People. Duh.

I just remembered it last night because I was thinking how the album is a prime example of how class conscious the Brits are even today! (Although Different Class's "today" was almost 10 years ago...)

Oh yeah, I watched a documentary about Brit Pop on tv a few nights ago, Jarvis Cocker was interviewed in it!
Mostly it revolved around Oasis though *rolls eyes* and their little dramas with Blur. It was okishly entertaining though, in a kinda music snob sorta way.
