Why are NONE of you raving about this song yet?!
Come on, it's fabulous!!!!
It sort of has a Cornflake Girl epic-esque feel to it for me. In a kinder, genter, yet deeper sort of way. I hope she plays it on tour with the band A LOT!

This is one of my favorite tracks so far. I've had the album on a lot, but so far it's been mostly a background thing... I haven't been able to give it the thorough listen(s) I would need to make a really thorough analysis, but this song is one of the ones that really jumps out at me everytime.

I do love the 'Heys', yes. Absolutely. It's just....maybe it's my dad's stereo or something, but this song sounds kind of 'muted' -like it's trying to be loud, and someone's stuffing a pillow over it! I have no idea why this is happening... Hopefully I'll make it over to my cousin's tomorrow and give the volume a bit of stick!

Hels, I get the same muted feeling, especially in the beginning of the song, even when I'm listening to it from the headphones.
I now listened to it again this morning, and I have really started liking this song! I especially like it that Tori decided to start the song right off without any intros. Artists do that too rarely: I like to get right to business ;D

I'm so in love with this song right now. I wanted to know if someone here feels this is like two separate songs put together, cos I feel this a bit. Something similar happens with Ribbons Undone, only that in that case is cos I like some part better than the other, but with Marys I feel there're two separate songs. One song is the chorus (Les Saint Marie de la Mer you will dance the ring Marys of the Sea the lost bride weeps Les Saint Marie de la Mer We will dance your ring) and the other is the rest of the song, lets say, the song without the chorus. Well, I'll edit it and see how it goes when I have the time. I love the whole song I think it's one of the best off the album, but I felt this the other day and wanted to share.

This song is now vying for the title of "favorite Beekeeper song"... I love the French part. And the rest of it, too I definitely feel like it's epic like Mary said. And I really like the way she uses the imagery of the Son to indict aspects of certain mainstream religions... in my opinion, anyway. For now you have hijacked the Son Last time I checked He came to light the lamp for everyone[/b]... And I also hope very much to hear it live

I love this song. I love the "Heys" as well, I can just picture her sitting in a chair and these religious men just talking out of their asses and her standing up, stomping over to them, grabbing their faces and yelling, "HEY! I AM NOT IN YOUR WAY! HEY! NO NEED TO PUSH ME AGAIN! [sarcasm] > I KNOW IT'S YOUR DAY IN THE SUN!"
