Oh so many uber-excited things I have to ramble about.. will go in order.. Trevor - you have to go to the Melbourne show as well as your Canberra one so that we can all have that lil mini Torum meetup Hels just mentioned ;D Ben - that's a cool offer, but I think after we've all left, you'll find half your cool posters are missing! Hels - how many days are you planning to stay in Sydney? I want to arrive on the Friday, and was thinking of staying with family that night and then staying in a hotel the night of the concert.. if you wanted to stick around for more than just the concert night, you are welcome to free accommodation with me at whoever's house I'll be staying at! (and, is it ok for the same kinda arrangement in Melbourne as last year when I came over? Since we have such a nice gap between the two gigs, I'd love to be able to spend more time in Melbourne again and have a less rushed time than I put us through those 3 days!) generally speaking - I hope the ticket websites don't jam up from so many people trying to order at once! I wish it was a week from now, and the ticket stress had passed us by already. I didn't even notice what Mary's avatar said till now. lol sounds stalkerish... I like it. Ok I'm just starting to ramble.

Jrie - you'll be going to the Melbourne show too, will you? I don't see how we'll actually be able to manage to all get tickets sitting near each other.... but at least we can hang out before/after! And I'm sure whatever random people we end up next to in the concert will be cool..? we'll all be there for the same reason after all

Ok chickens, here's another tidbit I found out today: The FRONT ROW seats at Hamer Hall are only being sold by the venue (The Arts Centre) so I will call them to make sure on Monday. That is of course, if we're fussed about getting front row seats. Part of me says, 'hell yes I want front row seats!' and the other part is saying 'Hels, just be thankful you'll be in the same room as Tori' - so either way I'm happy. But the main thing is, Ticketmaster won't be selling the front row seats. Aims, because I'm so dreadfully broke, I will probably only stay in Sydney for one night (plus I have uni anyway). I will be working part-time by then also, but I don't know what my hours willl be, so I'm worried about leaving you by yourself. The good news is I have Fridays off from uni Yayness for that! And thank heavens the Sydney gig is on a Saturday night! Jrie, you are absolutely coming with us I'll PM you and see if we can get tickets together. I'm scared about the ticket prices! All I remember was that she was $34 back in 1994.....

And thank heavens the Sydney gig is on a Saturday night! Oh yeah, of course! In that case, if I manage to get a ticket for Sydney, I'll do the family-visiting thing during that week after the gig and head over to Melbourne as late in the week as possible. Of course (because I'm starting to feel really pessimistic and shite about stuff) if I only get a ticket to one or the other, it won't matter anyway. Be less travel anyway I guess. Well, not by much but y'know. I'm going to try the Sydney presale on Thursday but don't really fancy my chances... but it's worth a shot. I'm not worried about trying to get front row or anything coz I don't think that's very realistic. Am a bit worried about the Melbourne show for a different reason - that ticketmaster site was an absolute bastard when I was ordering the PJ Harvey tickets, I just have all these horrible visions of it spazzing out on me or something. Not sure if sitting on the phone is going to be a safer bet, probably not. Will have to try my luck online. Ok sorry this is such a depressing ticket-stress ramblefest. Might refrain from posting unless I'm feeling all joyous like I was the last couple of days. (EDIT: Hels - I know Ticketmaster posted the PJ tickets over to me last year, but Ticketek didn't, we had to pick them up at the venue. Which turned out sweet as, but if again they won't post them to me, is it ok to have them sent to you? It's nice to know that your tickets are sitting safely somewhere in the lead up to a concert!)

Sorry people, no can do on Melbourne.
There is no way in my current job that I can have 12/13 May off. That Council I work for, the one that has a meeting about once every three months. It's meeting on 13 May (in Sydney it so happens, but Canberra wouldn't have been any different). My boss is a very nice person but she's not going to let me leave her on her own for a Council meeting. She jokingly talked about ways of moving it to Melbourne, but...
Of course, I've applied for a couple of new jobs in the department but there's almost no chance of me having changed jobs in time to buy tickets. Unless it somehow doesn't sell out, I'd know too late.
So, I can consider Sydney. Hels, are you talking about the Novotel at Darling Harbour? If so it's a pretty good location to stay. Alternatively I could stay with my Nana out at Blacktown (Aims, do you know where all your relatives are?)
Meanwhile I have at LEAST one person to go with in Canberra. ;D

Oh that's a shame. But hopefully things will turn out well and we'll all see each other in Sydney ;D
Nope, I don't know the name of the area that my family lives in, but I do know they're not all that close to the city. So if I end up in Sydney I'll stay in a hotel the night of the concert.

Trevor that's ok ~no worries. I'm still so excited I can hardly sleep at night, lol. I do think it would be a truly magical night at the Opera House though. I've never been, so to see Tori in it would just about finish me off... The Novotel you mentioned is the one! So glad it's a good location. I will be doing lots of travel agenty work on Monday, so I will post again then to see how many people need to rest their exicted heads, lol. *prays to Zeus that the tickets aren't an arm and a leg* (still)

Just found an extra option for tickets.. www.visapreferredseating.com.au/I don't think you need a visa to sign up, just your email address and post code. Apparently it sort of reserves tickets for you if you wish to buy them - or at least notifies you that they have some available.

I've got things about Visa preferred seating before. I'm not sure it would help at this late stage. The main purpose is to notify you when possible shows/events become definite. A week in advance of ticket sales may be a bit late!
Um, regarding sitting together. Wouldn't it be better to try and get just ONE of us to buy tickets for shows where more than one person plans to go?
I'll PM you all...

Trevor, I'm thinking the same thing about the seating arrangements too. I wish I had a second credit card at this point, as I've maxed out my only. Dad said he will lend me the money for Friday though, which is great, but it still means one of us has to use a credit card (or cash, gulp) for the tickets. I'll PM you too love. My friend is in talks with her Ticketmaster friend. *crosses fingers* On a side note, I just about had a coronary when I saw that under the 'Now Booking' header in The Age today was Tori Amos. I rang Ticketmaster in a sweat, but they said the paper was wrong, and they will go on sale as planned on Friday. Phee-eeeew.
