Heh. I wore bifocals from the time I was a baby until I was 6 years old. Then I got contacts, but screamed and cried every time my mom put them in and took them out. So I went back to glasses but got contacts again when I was 12 and was old enough to handle them. Now I only wear glasses when I'm reading. And sometimes I wear non-prescription glasses when the mood strikes me. The person below me has met Tori.

Post by veela on Jul 27, 2006 9:20:44 GMT -5
no. (don't hate me). ALMOST on two different occasions though. the first time was after i saw her on the choirgirl tour. we stood in the freezing cold for what seemed like forever waiting for her to come out. i wasn't standing in a great spot. I did meet Caton while waiting and took a photo with him -- very nice guy. and had to suffer through the sounds of various pretentious bitch faces going on about all the shows they've seen this tour and how many times they've met tori. it was like, come on then! give someone else a chance you hoarding bitch!!! haha... jealous? me? nooooo... the second time was before a show on the scarlet's walk tour. the local indie station here was putting on a private show with her at a TINY club for their super high spending members (ahem, NOT me). but my friend found out about it so we went down to try and finagle our way in. while there were only about 10 of us (at most) outside and the place was not to capacity, the doorman still wouldn't let us in. (did i mention that this was a FREE show???) even after people left! LEFT!! LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!! in the middle of a free tori show at the tiniest, most intimate venue you could imagine. i was appalled!!!!!!!!!! so anyway, my friend and i had to settle for listening to her by squeezing our ears against the glass (she was right on the other side!!!) for a couple of hours. then when it was over, they brought her right out the front door. they weren't letting her stop and talk or hug and sign things, unfortunately. but she was very cool about it. she took her time, walking very, very slowly to the car. she waved and talked. i took a picture. she was literally, two feet in front of me and i wanted so much to reach out and hug her. and the funny thing was, i wanted to say so much but had no idea what i would have said!! all i could think to stammer was "i love you!" and that seemed so lame!!! SORRY for the big rant and super long story that you all certainly didn't care for. but i couldn't help myself.... okay so the person below ME has met Tori...

Oh, but I HAVE met Tori! I owe it to that guy who smashed me up against the wall at the meet & greet. Tori leaned over and shook my hand and asked me how I was doing. I think I said, "Fine." I was in a haze at that point. I asked her if she could sign my TVAB booklet, which she so kindly did after making sure she knew how to spell my name correctly. i am very fond of him... love? hhhmmm... i was a big tool fan way back when and sort of stopped following at some point. though i LOVE apc stuff. tool is coming here soon and i really want to go but i don't know if i love him enough to pay $80 or whatever it will be!!! too broke!
so i guess my feelings for maynard are very warm and special like a long lost friend who makes you happy/sad/emotional with just the sound of their voice but you don't hang with all that often.
