GOODBYE PISCES I don't I don't
know why In your Boys life you
become likea bull like a bull in a
china shop Smash it up into smithereens
There you There you go again Breaking
Breaking porcelain Is that all I am just a Doll
you got you used to We've done We've done this before
as Mars sauntered through his door Don't say it's time
to say Goodbye to Pisces Goodbye to Pisces I cried and I
washed my tears that turned into diamond Ice into ice and if
it could freeze My heart wouldn't float away There we
There we go again...So how how will I go Back on Back
on the shelf with a smile with a smile to the customer
and say on sale by the owner Here I Here I go
again Breaking Breaking porcelain Is that all I
am just a Doll you got used to We've done
We've done this before as Mars sauntered
through his door Don't say it's time to
say Goodbye to Pisces Goodbye
to Pisces Goodbye my Pisces
I think this song is definitely about the ending of an era when it comes to a relationship. Knowing that even though you may have thought this was gonna be The One, it turned out to be just a stepping stone to The One. You have to kiss a bunch of potential princes, to get to the prince.
Here's Tori's description of it:
"I'm a sucker for a good love song. One of my friends had sent me this book called Sextrology, mainly just cause she's into that kind of stuff. Anyway, I was thumbing through it one night, as you do, and I started thinking about how in a relationship you can't stop yourself sometimes from putting your lovers attitude about something down to their sign. I don't necessarily think that the male character I'm singing about is a Pisces, he might have Pisces in his chart somewhere. but more than anything it's about the end of an age - whether that's the end of a relationship of the end of the Piscean age, which has been the last two thousand years. And sometimes a relationship can feel like it's been going on for 2000 years." [Tori Amos: Piece by Piece]
