I'm watching the dvd right now. I think I'm in shock. LOL It's really good. Tori is very comfortable talking about all this garden stuff and tying it to life in general... transformation, motherhood. It's interesting. She's right back to exploring Mary M, "her own" Tree of Knowledge, being at war, etc. It all ties together in this album.
Here's my favorite Tori-quote so far: (during her talk about Jamaica Inn)
"I'm not afraid of death... What I'm afraid of, what always stops me, is betrayal. And if I've betrayed someone, that scares me, too."

i've not read all the lyrics.... coz i wanna read n listen to the songs at the same time.... i checked w hmv here in melbourne and the beekeeper's only coming out on the 28th..... but anyway i downloaded sleeps w butterflies from diagnosed when it was first available... coz i figured its her first single so really i aint spoiling nethg (right?) and it was so weird listening to it.... i just broke up w my gf and initially she said she needed some time n all and some space and then it all turned really ugly of course... and now we r hardly on speaking terms.... but sleeps w butterflies meant so much to me when i first heard it....i was going thru such a bad time and crying everyday and just having to re evaluate my whole life.... starting with "airplanes take u away again..." in our relationship we had to take many a plane to reach one another....... then of course, the chorus: "u say the words u noe i will find u, or if u need some time i dun mind.... i dun hold on to the tail of ur kite... i'm not like the girls that u've known... but i believe im worth coming home to, kiss away night, this girl only sleeps with butterflies..."when i first heard it... i thought it was a sure sign we will b back together again.... and i found hope in it... then i realised we could never b.... and the lyrics and song itself started to take on a whole new meaning.... abt how love is abt letting go.... and if it's yours it will come back.... now when i sing it... i think of my future partner..... well sometimes i still think of my ex.... but you noe... this girl only sleeps with butterflies.... they are bound to fly off.... and hopefully fly back... "so go on and fly... boy"

"so go on and fly... boy"Aww, *hugs*. It's such a pretty song. I love the melody. I had heard it once before I got the album but listening to it multiple times tonight is just making me fall in love with it! Some of my favorite quotes from Garlands are in my avatar and sig. ;D

Among my favorites:
From Jamaica Inn: the sexiest thing is trust i wake up to find the pirates have come tying up along your coast how was i to know the pirates have come between Rebecca's beneath your firmaments i have worshipped in the Jamaica Inn (Always reminds me of Josh!)
From Toast: I thought it was harvest time You always loved the smell of wood burning. (Reminds me of winter, that cozy smell of wood burning that makes me think of strong men in flannel *lol*. Believe it or not, it's a comforting scent to me!
From Ribbons Undone: Every single word. It makes me long for what may be...
From Sweet the Sting: ]...is it sweet sweet sweet your sting is it real your infusion can it heal where others before have failed? if so then somebody shake shake shake me sane cause i am inching ever closer to the tip of this scorpion's tail
From Parasol: when i come to terms to terms with this when i come to terms with this when i come to terms to terms with this my world will change for me *I think these lyrics from Parasol are the epitome of "tori lyrics" from my past; the ones I'd relate to when I needed to heal. They can be interpreted in any way the listener wants (like any Tori lyric), but have that sort of "girl-healing-power" feeling to them. Does that make sense?
Okay, I'm going to focus a bunch of room in my blog for song interpretations and thoughts when I get back from NYC and Long Island, and I'll update this when I have time. For now, these are the lyrics that jump out at me first.

Okay, that's it...I'm searching for Garlands...at least the lyrics! You've got my undies in a bunch, Mayr! That sounded a little...weird. I mean...well, whatever. LoL Ok... My fav lyrics are almost every line of each song... Hmmm, I mean, yesterday I was picking up fav lines from each song to post in my diary, and they were like 1000000... I just love the beekeeper so so so much. It's like my fav album, though I dont wanna say that, cos maybe it's just because I'm so shocked I love it so much and it's so great and so new and that I may be FINALLY seeing her live... Well, you know, lots of things. I could cry to almost every song I guess... "still the rain can't confuse the thoughts that come come in rhythm" Every line means so much for me these days, it's like a portrait of how I feel (even including the hoochie woman thing I guess)... Ok, maybe I can post some lyrics later, and I wanna listen to Garland, god!!!!! Love to all of you who are as in love with the Beekeeper as I am.
