Me, too. The hit it boys part is great.
I LOVE this one. It's so funky and gooooood.
Gotta rise in the night Pick myself off the floor...
Thought I was a witness you could turn to Not in.
Great lines.
This song seems like a sister song to Original Sinsuality. Hehe, Tori and her unbiblical biblical references.

I really like this one. Does anyone else think this song has a kinda Andrew Lloyd Webber/Jesus Christ Superstar sort of vibe to it? The chrous especially seems like it could slide right into there. It's anthemic.

Heh, I'm going to classify this song in the same category as Hoochie Woman[/b]: "Shake whatcha momma gave ya!" Seriously. It gets my hips movin' all over the place!

Last night we were listening to it while I was cooking dinner. I guess I got a little carried away while I was stir-frying and hip-shaking to all the 'Come on's: This morning Alison came downstairs and found a couple pieces of tofu and mushroom that apparently had got flung from my spatula and across the kitchen counter to the dining area! LOL, Whoopsie. I'm a messy dancer! She picked it up then just shook her head and rolled her eyes at me. Like usual. I said it was Tori's fault.

LMAO! For some reason, most of the stories that combine you, Tori, and at least one of your children... they're usually quite hilarious I would like to add one comment about this song though... It might just be my stereo, the speakers or something, but the piano figure at around 4:00 - right before the bridge - sounds really out of place... Like it just doesn't fit at all. Anyone agree? Or am I just crazy?

ROFL! ROFL! I cant stop laughing after your post Jay... You made me go and play the song to listen to the piano part, LMAO... It sounds ok for me though, maybe it's your speakers?

Ah! It just came to me. I've been thinking that something in the beginning seconds of this song, about 15 seconds in, remind me VERY VAGUELY of some other song's beginning-ish part. I was thinking of Sting's "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free". It's faster, but it feels/sounds similar to me.

I want this to be a single. I want her to do a video for this. I want a t-shirt that says: "Thought I was a witness.... (front) ...that you could turn to, not in." (back)
I want!

It's nice to hear that so many like this song. Now I can be in the camp of Witness-hatas without feeling too bad for Tori. Ok, I don't hate the song. My skip-this-song finger just starts twitching when I hear it, kinda like with General Joy. The song is very ambitious sounding, but I just don't "get it". Obscure drug references, ok, got them. Not how they relate to the rest of the song, though. (Anyone, please feel free to correct me and point their relevance out). I guess my main problem with this song is that Tori is totally left second to the choir. It sounds like she's accompanying the choir rather than other way around, especially in parts where Tori sounds like she can't keep up with them (where the melody is running down -- I've heard much more smooth executions of that in the world of soul). But! I do like the way it mellows out and then picks up again. That's pretty cool.

When my brother and I were premiering the album and she sung "so then when did you begin your craving for white powder exotic matter that cell's divide?" we practically jumped and looked at each other like "DAAAYYYYYUMMM!" I mean, Tori totally rocked the socks off this song. I have a personal connection to its' meaning actually. When I was 13, I was having a "she said, she said" complication with 2 "friends" of mine and I had said a few times that I wish we could just have a big courtroom with a jury and witnesses and testimonies to figure out who the hell said what!
Here's my interpretation of it:
I think when you are very confused about a situation and you just want the truth to be laid on the table it's very frustrating. Personally, I've had this exact feeling where I wanted a courtroom, lawyers, judges, and a jury to help me figure out who was lying. This song is personal. This is a quote unquote "crime" against each other and you are trying to discover who's at fault and who must pay.

The worst song on the album for me. I don't like it. I always skip it.
