I know some of us talked about this on the favourite authors thread, but I've been thinking about the kinds of books I've re-read lately and thought I may as well make a thread for us book nerds to prattle on in.
Also, I've been using a lot of the books you guys have talked about lately in my searches for cheap used books and have even read a few already (Paddy Clarke, A Long Way Down... got a couple of others waiting to be read). So for me this Bookclub forum has been awesome for checking out different authors I may not have picked up otherwise.
Ok well, here's my very short list of books I loved enough to read more than once:
Stardust - Neil Gaiman Neverwhere - Neil Gaiman Good Omens - Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman Wyrd Sisters - Terry Pratchett Interview With The Vampire - Anne Rice The Twits / The BFG / Charlie & The Chocolate Factory / The Witches - Roald Dahl (they never get old)
Then there's the list of books that I know I'll definately read again:
Trainspotting - Irvine Welsh The Perks of Being A Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky Scar Tissue - Anthony Keidis The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell - Marilyn Manson The entire Harry Potter series (want to read these again before the final book's released) His Dark Materials Trilogy - Philip Pullman The Sandman series - Neil Gaiman

Mine are:

Scott Fitzgerald Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs - Chuck Klosterman Stranger Things Happen - Kelly Link The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath Harry Potter, of course! (I'm with you, Aims, I just finished reading books 1-6 again and I can't wait for book 7!)

I think everyone should read Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs. It's one of the funniest things I've ever read. I love any author who tears apart Coldplay.

Some books I like to re-read:
J.R.R. Tolkien - The Lord of The Rings, Silmarillion, The Hobbit and Unfinished Tales of Númenor and Middle-Earth
Elyne Mitchell - The Silver Brumby
Katharine Kerr - Daggerspell
Arthur Golden - Memoirs Of A Geisha
...
Lol, my head's really empty today... I can't think of more books now... I read so much new stuff all the time because there are many books I still want to read. I'll just continue the list when something comes to mind.

i tend not to re-read too much (sort of like mana, want to get at all the new-to-me stuff that i can!). probably the only book that i've read through many times is Go Ask Alice (anonymous). one of the best books i've ever read. all 10 times! i also think i've read some of the harry potters more than once. i, however CAN wait for the 7th book because that means there are no more so i don't want to rush it too much. however, books that i WANT to read again and PLAN on reading again include: white oleander (janet fitch) everything is illuminated (jonathan safran foer) the red tent (anita diamant) the time-traveler's wife (audrey niffenegger) but for now, i barely have time for the new-to-me ones so i imagine it will be a while...

Same here, Aims: through the talks here I have already purchased two books with absolutely no regrets and now am waiting for some of the books to appear in the library.
I tend to buy books only when I'm fairly sure that I will reread them. Thus, often I buy books when I have already read the once through the library. I tend to reread stuff when I'm between books--maybe when I don't have the energy to finish a new book, I revisit some older ones.
Stuff that I've read multiple times and always the experience offers something new are:
The Lord of the Rings--Tolkien The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy--Douglas Adams Franny and Zooey--J.D. Salinger Raise High The Roofbeam, Carpenters--J.D. Salinger The Blind Assassin--Atwood The Neverending Story--Michael Ende Backlash--Susan Faludi (nonfiction) The Cider House Rules--John Irving (both for fun and for my studies) The World According to Garp--John Irving (<3) Vihreä Tukka--Aila Meriluoto
And books I've read maybe once or twice and will read again:
The Diamond Age--Neal Stephenson (<3) The Secret History--Donna Tartt Everything is Illuminated--Jonathan Safran Foer Trainspotting--Irvine Welsh The House of Leaves--Mark Z. Danielewski His Dark Materials--Philip Pullman

it's very strange that i've hardly ever read a book twice. i guess that's because then i'd feel bad for the books i haven't even read once. hence my list is pretty small:
the never-ending story - michael ende four-legged friends - w. w. tschaplina (this is a russian children's book about true stories that happened in a moscow zoo in the first half of the 20th century... it was my favourite book when i was a kid and i loved it dearly.)

The Perks Of Being a Wallflower was an awesome book. Definitely a book worth reading again.
The only book I can think of that I have re-read is Charlotte's Web. My mom used to read it to me when I was a little girl over and over again. Though there are books that I'd read again it's just I have too many books to re-read.
Book I'd like to re-read -1984, George Orwell -The Perks Of Being a Wallflower, Stephen Chbosky -Running with the Demon, Terry Brooks -Any Amy Tan book is worth re-reading, 'The Hundred Secret Senses' a great one to be specific. -The Kitchen God's Wife, Amy Tan -Bridge To Terabithia, Katherine Paterson -Tuck Everlasting, Natalie Babbitt and many more.

-Any Amy Tan book is worth re-reading, 'The Hundred Secret Senses' a great one to be specific. That was awesome book!! I liked the end half the book even more than the beginning! I liked how it was good already in the beginning but totally caught me when the end was coming nearer. ^^ I even picked that up for a school work, I wrote an essay about the book for Finnish course. ^^

Stupid question I know, but I love to write essays. It was about women in the book mixed up with cultural differences view. There was several choices to write about, you could pick subjects like men in the book, women in the book, society in the book, cultural differences in the book... And probably something else too but I don't remember more. I don't remember so well anymore what I wrote but something about relationship between Olivia and Kwan and their different views etc.
