What are your reading techniques and rituals? Do you read sitting up or laying down? On the bed, on a table, in a park, on the train, in class? Do you light candles, have a special drink or snack along with reading? Do you have music on or do you prefer silence? Now, tell me.

It doesn't really matter much to me. The two most common ways I read are in bed and at my desk at work. Although if I read during the day in the weekend I usually lay on my bed. Just comfier I guess.
Noise doesn't matter too much. I prefer not to have TOO much annoying loud shit going on in the background, but can handle a little (like tv, or radio.. depends where I am - at work I'm used to putting up with noise obviously).

Almost anything goes... At home the nicest place is my bed. Any chair/sofa is nice too. And for the background sounds, I usually have music on when I read and that doesn't distract me. People speaking I can ignore usually too but sometimes that distracts, depends on a day. Usually when I read in my room I prefer putting music on and that way closing off possible speaking in the next room or downstairs (voices from the living room come to my room easily in this house). I read when I eat and I I read at school during the breaks or I go to library if I have free lesson during the school day. ^^

these days, i sort of read whenever/wherever/however i get a chance since it's so few and far between! i tend to lay on my couch or in bed and read for the most part. usually with no noise. though i'll also read during commercials when watching tv and always on the bus (very noisy and doesn't usually get to me unless there are really loud people right next to me who talk nonstop).
i take it how i can get it though.

I prefer to read in my bed lying down, but anywhere will do. On the train, in the car, I used to read at work when I was a receptionist, I even find myself reading when walking sometimes you know if it's a really good book. I can read with the TV just not the radio cause I find myself singing, and as long as there's no screaming I can read while people are talking.

What a great question!
I read when I have free time, and it's usually
a) in the early morning, either right before I go to work or during the weekend when I have gotten up and the SO is still sleeping so I have to be quiet anyway.
b) right before sleeping.
In case a I read at the kitchen table while having coffee. Reading and coffee go seamlessly together in my books! I normally don't like to have music on when I read anyway.
In case b I lie in bed and read until I get tired. Again, in silence, pretty much. I don't have a couch or much room anyway in this apartment, so the places I read are only the bed and the kitchen table, heh.
On holidays however I tend to carry a book with me in my messenger bag so that if I'm on a train, or in a park, or on a long car ride I have something to read.

Yeah, I usually carry book with me too, during different trips etc. It's great when it appears you have to wait half an hour or more for something and then can avoid boredness 'cause you have a book with you. ^^
