I love having really long books to read when it s wintertime. Although it is harder to read them when Im nursing as I sort of hold them over my son's head while he nurses, and they are heavy but anyone have good suggestions of long novels? I just read Marie Antoinette, a biography, by Antonia Fraser and it is very long and I highly recommend it! Oh, Anna Karenina is another lovely book for winter. Oh, Aims, I know you're going into summer, though...Oh, Lord of the Rings is a great winter read.

Hehe thanks for remembering my backwards/futuristic situation, Elizabeth It got me thinking about what kind of stuff is good for summer reading though. I guess light-hearted, humourous stuff? But then, I often feel funny stuff is better for winter, when it's easy to get down from the gloomy weather. So I don't know. All I do know, is that I have a stack of books that are waiting to be read, and I'm going to try and get a through a lot of books this summer. Three weeks forced leave from work over Christmas, after all... :\

Hmm. I seem to like reading horror and suspense--and comics!--a lot during winter. Maybe it's because I'm working a lot during that time and I can't devote as much time to reading as I wish I could. Still, I want to keep it up, so horror (Stephen King and such) are good because mostly they're kind of fluffy in content but still exciting, and they're HUGE.

Oh, I have Anna Karenina, but I've never read it. Maybe I'll pick it up and check it out. Elizabeth, have you read Harry Potter? It's a long read and it's awesome. xo

Elizabeth, this winter has been ridiculously warm in Finland (we have had barely any snow when usually at this time of the year we have tons!) so unfortunately I haven't needed to find a good winter book. :/
And I haven't read any horror in ages, either. Well, except The House of Leaves which kiiiiinda is horror. Or horrifying, at least. Hmm actually it's a pretty good "snuggle in some corner and read with a glass of wine"-kind of a book.
