Where or when have you felt most like you were really home? Do you think it is just an inner feeling or does it matter where in the world you are (wondering about you because i move all the time and am feeling like i want to go home!)

Home to me is feeling comfortable, if I don't feel comfortable there is no way somebody will get a word out of me. It's a state of mind, that's why Canada is as much my home as Chile will ever be, and my parents house is as much my home as it will always be.

I come from a very close-knit family & we all grew up in Southern California all our lives, so I feel the most at home at my parent's house in L.A. hanging out in the kitchen with all my relatives there...just eating, talking, laughing, crying, hugging, teasing, spilling, cleaning up messes.....LMAO! ;D I'm especially at home with my sisters....we are really close.

I always feel the most at home like when the house is clean and the blankets are cleaned and everything smells good and there is a fire going and I'm just sitting comfortably enjoying my surroundings and a good movie. Lately it hasn't felt like home though. I let my house get so dirty and cluttered because we have done nothing but shop for the past few days. So things are cluttered. So yeah a clean good smelling house with a good movie and a good fire and soft carpet always does it for me. Believe it or not haha.

I always wished I had sisters like that-I read this article about Cindy Crawford who grew up with 3 sister too and her mom(stay at home) and she just described it so warmly-she said ther'd always be like 3 of them in the bathroom-one curling her hair, one on the toilet and one bathing or something!you are lucky!

I always felt most at home in this house four of my best guy friends used to live in. I used to spend hours over there and I never had to knock or anything, I could always just walk in. Since they moved last summer, I haven't been able to find a place like that.

Hey,we have another thing in common...I have 4 good guy friends that I grew up with & was always closer to them than girls.....probably b/c i had enough 'girl bonding' with my sisters! lol There is nothing better than walking in somewhere where you don't feel the need to knock.....a very good description of 'home'!! ;D

Exactly!!! LOL We were lucky enough to have 2 bathrooms to share but there was this problem with the electrical GFI thingies in the house (probably the Ghost's fault!, lol) so that no 2 hairdryers could be plugged in at one time, otherwise the power would go out in both bathrooms (and also in the 3rd bathroom where my parents' were getting ready) & we would have to go outside to the box & retrip the switches. .....but here's the thing: every single morning we did it anyway!!!!! We fought to be the first to plug in the hairdryers!....and this was in the 80's during the BIG HAIR era!!!!! We were so pathetic! And we were brutal....omg, when we got mad at each other look out....one time i took one of my sister's shirts & was gonna wear it (we all wore pretty much the same size...good and bad!)...she got pissed so she took toothpaste & smeared it all over the front of the shirt as I was wearing it....like 2 minutes before i had to walk out the door to catch the bus....She ruined her own shirt just so I couldn't wear it!!!! I can't really talk, though....i vacuumed her hair one time when I got mad b/c she would not get up off my floor! It got sucked into the vacuum & we had to turn it off & unwind her hair from the machine to get it out!!!! OMG, it's funny now, but then it wasn't. LOL I could go on & on , but i'll spare you all.....Suffice it to say, i wouldn't trade my relationship with my sisters for anything!

when i'm all alone...sounds wack doesn't it.. xo Nah, I understand what you mean. Sometimes I feel most at home when I am by myself, simply listening to music, curled up with some pillows and a cup of tea. Otherwise I feel most at home when I'm at my second home -- my boyfriends house, snuggled up together watching a movie.

When travelling certain places have felt like they could be home in certain ways. Doesn't always make sense why.
Conwy in northern Wales is just the sweetest little town I've ever seen.
Antwerp in Belgium felt like I was coming home even though I'd never been there. It's where my parents lived 9 months before I was born.
I always love returning to Canberra though.

Maybe in London. It depends on who I'm with, I guess.
Honestly, I feel most at home when I'm with people I can relate to. A group of online friends and I used to make these huge X-Files chats and they'd be all out craziness. So I think I feel most at home in a situation like that.

when i'm all alone...sounds wack doesn't it.. xo Actually sounds very familiar. I mean, I appreciate my friends and family, but when alone (big difference from the word lonely) I feel at ease, and I feel like I am just so darn easy to talk to! LOL To be honest, hospitals are very home-y to me. I have spent alot of time in them, and they are a sort of familiar comfort to me. Not that I want another surgery or to be sick or to visit a loved one who is sick! Well... dunno how to explain. : )
