To all of you! guys so much, you are all so amazingly wonderful, intelligent, compassionate, and kind. I hope every one of you hears the words "I love you" today from someone, and that you can spend at least a little part of the day with someone you love. Here's how I plan to spend my V-Day: *I already opened cards and presents we got from family (woohoo!) *Cleaning the house for Jared, so it's all pretty when he gets home *READING THE VAGINAL MONOLOGUES! Hey, if I can't go see the play (sold out here), I can at least read it to all my guy friends and make them squirm! *Opening V-Day Gifts with Jae (Jared) *Calling my Mom, Dad, brother, and 3 sisters *Going out to celebrate our friend's 1 year wedding anniversary (married on V-day, how romantic!!) and GETTING WASTED WITH THE GANG! *Calling my 9 year old neighboor to wish her happy birthday! *Falling into bed, drunk as a skunk, and probably smelling as bad from the bar *Making out with Jared as much as possible WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR V-DAY? XOXOXOXOXO, ~*lilyella*~

I was in my college's production of The V-Day Monologues (that's what we called it when we were afraid to say the other word, lol) for 3 years. My favorite year was when I got to do the intro monologue. I got to speak directly to the audience and play off of them. And its great to see the reactions on the faces of those who haven't been to the monologues before when the intro goes on. ANYWAY, I know that I've already mentioned this here, but this is the 5th YEAR that I have been dating my boyfriend and we have never spent a Valentine's Day together. This year won't be any different, since our work schedules are very much conflicting. SO, I am getting some stuff done around the house, going to work, coming home, taking a bath, and going to bed. Oh well. Happy Hallmark Card Day to Everyone!!

Oh well. Happy Hallmark Card Day to Everyone!! You are so lucky to have been in the V Mono's!!! I'm sitting here in the middle of cleaning and running errands, reading through them....so original and funny and sad and insightful. I totally agree that V-Day has become a psychotic Hallmark day, but for me, it has so many family memories that I can't help but love it! Every Valentine's Day (when I was still at home), my Dad would take over. (He never bought the birthday or Christmas presents, because we have 5 women in the family!!!) He would buy 2 dozen roses, giving one dozen to my mom and split the other among us, placing them at our seats at the kitchen table. He'd buy those huge heart balloons, cute v-day jewelry, chocolate, cards, and stuffed animals for us, and put them all with the roses. It was the one holiday that he claimed as his own. You know what? I just depressed myself....no more roses or little presents...just a card from my mom in the mail. Maybe I'm totally being a bitchy baby here, but I miss that sooooo much. I mean, for the 1st 3 years of college I'd get a big package.... And today I woke up to a card, while Jared's family sent him presents, cards, money....I'm not expecting anything, but still...it's that transition period when you've been moved out for a couple years, and finally realize that things have changed forever. *sniff, tear, sniff*.....OKAY, OKAY, I ADMIT IT! I'M NOT HAVING SUCH A GOOD VALENTINE'S DAY EITHER! I just figured that if I pepped myself up about it, I would forget how sad I was. Dammnit, I hate Valentine's Day!! I mean, with our anniversary Feb. 23, my freakin' birthday Feb 25th, it's kinda pushed aside. and just to make this rant complete, I HATE MY FUCKING BIRTHDAY. FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS, IT'S BEEN A DAMN JOKE. too long of a story to go into now....but, boy, did I ever just change my tune?!? yeah...well....guess I'm gonna go surf a little more, wait for the hot water to come back so I can finish the dishes and take a shower. *sigh*. sorry, guys!!! !!! LOL at my ridiculous nostalgia.

hugs, lilyella! You can rant...it's ok! But tonight when you are with Jared in your clean home, having dinner w/friends, making out (lol!) and doing whatever else..... just remember that tons of people are either separated from their valentines....or worse, still searching for theirs! There, feel better?! "Love is like breathing.....You take it in and you let it out.".........Take some in, girl!!!

Actually, it's the same way with me. That's what I've always looked forward to on Feb14th. My dad always spoiled us girls with the holiday (he's outnumbered too, even the pets are female!). When we were little we'd get chocolates and those huge "walking" heart balloons (they had those paper legs and arms and were weighted down just enough so that they looked like they were walking. Do you know what I'm talking about?) We don't get those balloons anymore, but my dad still gives us candies and stuff. My mom always makes an extra-nice dinner and dessert. Since I've never gotten to celebrate it with a boyfriend, it's become sort of a family holiday.

lol, pillow people!! I've never had one of those, but I was jealous when one of my best friends had them when I was little. It was one of those "everyone else has them" kinda things, lol for me, it was Popples. Remember those little guys whose belly pulled over their head, so they ended up little stuffed animal balls? (wait - that sounded weird!) oh well! my sisters, neighboors, and cousins all had a Popple, and I didn't! Ha ha....one day, in Kindergarten, my little sister snuck into her cubby and took her Popple to her desk (NOT ALLOWED!), and then shoved it down her pants! Her senile, mean teacher caught her, and said, "What do you have in your pants?" my sister said, "A popple" and started crying.... the teacher said, "If you don't put that thing back in your cubby, I'll popple you!" LMFAO!!!!!!! It wasn't so funny to my 5 year old sister at the time, though..... but still a great line! "I'll popple you..." hahaha

Lol, I loved Popples. I had one of the "mini" ones, it was yellow it's name was Potato Chip. My sister had a full-sized one that was pink, but she didn't like it, so I usually snuck it out of her room.
