Woohoo! I found a message board called Vinyl Asylum, and the 'inmates' confirmed for me the existence of Choirgirl as a double LP with 3 tracks each side. Also, their Under the Pink started side 2 with Cornflake Girl, so I know which shift the Waitress does on a regular basis. Now all we gotta do is find a Scarlet's Walk tape for sale, and everybody's happy... I think I saw a SW tape...? Hmm.... I was at Amazon lately...

I checked. And found no SW cassette. You know, I'm sure I saw one.... where WAS that? I think it was in person, in a shop, not online. (*tries to remember all the record shops she's been in the past 2 months and almost faints*) Is there a way to find out for sure from an official source as to whether or not the album was released on cassette? This is gonna bug me now, LOL Speaking of things along those lines I wonder what ever happened to Boston's Tori song-search...

Eh. I checked sonymusicstore.com and only had the option of purchasing SW on CD. Eh, if there's no cassette, there's no cassette. I'll live, lol. And I checked all my A Sorta Fairytale singles to see what they said (like the Cruel/Swirl single said vinyl, cd, cass), but every one said from the forthcoming album... and no vinyl, cd, OR cass mention. *shakes fist at singles being released before albums*

Okay, where I saw a cassette was in the online catalogue of a local music shop. www.impactrecords.com.auThey usually don't make things up. They provided Aims with a Tori video, for instance! Maybe it's only available in quaint little backward countries where they still have cassette players in cars?

Of course, now the question is... do australian cassettes play on american tape decks?! *goes to research*

You know, I was just looking at amazon.co.uk ... and I decided for absolutely no apparent reason to look at the Boys For Pele cd with the PW remix. There's a review from a Trevor in Canberra, Australia. Is.. it.... could that be... *blinks*...*falls over*
{missy, I modified this to remove his last name!}

But... also due to the fact that I really don't have a clue, you could indeed be telling the truth. And I've have no idea either way. EDIT: To justify me even asking that: DVDs are made for different 'zones' of the world. So that ones made for, say, England.. would not play on my DVD player from the US. So.. I just... kinda... wondered. I doubt I'd even play a Tori tape, anyway.. so I'm not so sure now why it matters.

Trevor indeed knows all about the differences in dvd formats for different countries. He posted info related to that once and my head was spinning..... some mumbo jumbo with the word "Pal" I think?.... But yeah, he's good at being hard to figure out.... part of that charm. *runs off to read ANOTHER Mr Picky review at Amazon....*

Okay, you've got me cornered on all counts! 1. Yes I have been known to warn people of the perils of the alternative Boys for Pele. How could I not?! 2. As far as I know there are no problems with CDs, tapes and records from anywhere in the world. I sent Mary a cassette and it worked. I've got CDs from USA and Europe and they're fine. It's only when you get to visual media like VHS and DVD that there are issues to deal with going from country to country. American TV = NTSC system. Australian and English TV = PAL system. In small backward countries we have to be aware of issues like this, it's amazing what can happen when you don't live in a country at the centre of the universe. We'd never get away with calling a national championship the World Series, for instance. Mallory, it was a fair question to ask. It mainly made me laugh because it reminded me of an e-mail that was doing the rounds at the time of the Sydney Olympics, with people from overseas asking all sorts of crazy questions about Australia. One of the questions was about whether a person's CD player or CDs would work here, which got all sorts of humorous suggested answers. The question I always remember was someone wanting to know when the Vienna Boys' Choir would be performing, one of several that got a "no, that's Austria" in response. So... whyd'ya want a Tori tape if not to play it? You're not one of these Collectors are you?

1. I'm glad you did warn the whole of Tori Amos UK Amazon shopping community about the perils of alt BFP. I was all excited when I saw that!! I did one of these, in fact: Promptly followed by a combination of: , , and And then immediately came here to post and find out! 2. I didn't think there were problems with audio things. My Japanese Choirgirl cd plays here... my UK Me & a Gun single plays here... but I figured it'd be best to ask. And I'm with you on the idiocy of us calling it the World Series. Eddie Izzard made a joke about that, in fact. I'd understand questions about CDs working.. but their own CD players?! Jeez, people really do worry me. And confusing Austria.. and Australia. VIENNA?! Oh, man. Yep, one of those damned Collectors. One has to have a hobby, I guess, right? And hell, I have to spend all my money on something, don't I? Though, I would have, no doubt, bought the tape whether I could play it or not... I'm sure I will at one point play it. A certain number of very extreme collectors have called me insane for the removal of PLASTIC WRAP. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to buy something and have it sit in plastic wrap on my shelf. And I'll look at it and go, "Oooooh. Pretty." Their arguments being "You won't be able to sell that for as much, now!" I didn't buy the damn things to sell them. Or to just look at them. That's ridiculous. Whoops. Rambled a bit. Do excuse.

1. Anyone know if The Beekeeper came out on cassette?
2. Dammit, why did I not bookmark the site I found half this information on?

It's funny the things you think of on a day when you have to drive 300km... Does anyone here have either a cassette or LP record of any of Tori's albums? If so, can you satisfy my curiosity by telling me where the splits are between sides? Some albums it's fairly easy to guess, some it's much harder. Actually I don't even know if they're all AVAILABLE on formats other than CD. I'm sure for the first 3 albums (gotta love that clear 2-record set for Boys for Pele). I know there's a counterfeit LP version of To Venus and Back but I'm not sure if there's a real one or a cassette. Here's hoping some of the people with BIG collections can answer this one for me. Obviously up to TOAL they are all available on cs. Pertaining to TVAB there is a special vinyl with a full picture on the record. Not 100% sure if its official. It also is one of the great cassettes to fall under the category of double cassttes. It comes in 2 tapes and shares one half of a moon(or planet) the other completing it with a replica of the other side. One case purple the other grey. Housed in matted cardboard its a true beauty to own. For more info or questions on collectables you can ask me on yessaod .com on the experts thread in the collecrtors board or anticipate thetoricollector.com launching in 1 year whuch is a complete hunters site for the collector.
