It's funny the things you think of on a day when you have to drive 300km...
Does anyone here have either a cassette or LP record of any of Tori's albums? If so, can you satisfy my curiosity by telling me where the splits are between sides? Some albums it's fairly easy to guess, some it's much harder.
Actually I don't even know if they're all AVAILABLE on formats other than CD. I'm sure for the first 3 albums (gotta love that clear 2-record set for Boys for Pele). I know there's a counterfeit LP version of To Venus and Back but I'm not sure if there's a real one or a cassette.
Here's hoping some of the people with BIG collections can answer this one for me.

I had Little Earthquakes on cassette. I believe China was the last song on side A but I'm not sure, since I bought the CD and gave the cassette to a friend when I was 16!! Good luck in your search!!

Actually, I'd like to know this myself. Mostly just on the LP thing. I randomly came across a single somewhere on the net on vinyl recently, but would love to find an actual album somewhere on that. I've gotten to the point where I have so many cds that I'm starting on a vinyl collection and half of my collection so far are albums I already have on cd. I really want to make Tori's albums part of that collection someday but yeah... fucked if I know where to find them.

Well, I had the Little Earthquakes cassette and I'm sure I remember the tracks being split down the middle; 6 songs on side 1, 6 songs on side 2. China was the FIRST song on side 2. The cassette was one of those clear ones, and it had whitish writing on it. (at the time many cassettes were finally coming out as the newer clear cassette-with-white-writing, instead of the older white cassette-with-black-writing). Not that you asked anything about the cassette appearance but you know how I am... I sooo wish I still had that LE cassette.

OOH! Found out LOTS of them! 1. Little Earthquakes - yes, as many of you have said, side 2 of the cassette starts with China. I assume the LP is the same. BUT did you know there was an early promotional version of LE which had: SIDE A 1-6 as normal plus Little Earthquakes SIDE B 7-11 plus FLYING DUTCHMAN?! 2. Under the Pink - no luck yet other than confirmation there was a cassette. One of the ones that's bugging me because The Waitress could fall either side of the line. 3. Boys for Pele - EUREKA! Cassette - Side B starts with Way Down LP - Side B starts with Mr Zebra, Side C starts with Way Down, Side D starts with Agent Orange. 4. From the choirgirl hotel - Cassette Side B starts with Liquid Diamonds as expected. Assume LP is the same? 5. To Venus and Back - DOUBLE cassette of course. Side B of Venus Orbiting starts with Josephine. Side B of Live album starts with SUGAR! 6. Strange Little Girls - don't know yet, but there WAS a cassette. I'm guessing Side B starts with Heart of Gold. 7. Scarlet's Walk - absolutely no idea.

Hmm, PROMOTIONAL cassettes of Under the Pink all had Cornflake Girl at start of side B, so I'm guessing the commercial one was the same.

Side B of Live album starts with SUGAR! Positively ab-fab. We all know Sugar is the best of the best of the best.

No I didn't, but I see it now while I searched for Tori stuff after you piqued MY curiosity with your topic here... That's cool! I found something! Only took me a sec... Over at LPnow (out of print LPs) they list a UTP vinyl which has Side B starting with The Waitress..... apparently, The Waitress worked the nightshift on the LP. lol It's the limited ed. LP that was pressed on pink vinyl. I also found both a US promotional UTP cassette and a Canadian promo UTP cassette, both with tracks as follows: Side 1 1. Pretty Good Year 2. God 3. Bells For Her 4. Past The Mission 5. Baker Baker 6. The Wrong Band 7. The Waitress Side 2 1. Cornflake Girl 2. Icicle 3. Cloud On My Tongue 4. Space Dog 5. Yes, Anastasia So on those, The Waitress worked the Day shift... But then, those are PROMO, so the 'real' releases may have been different. Hmmm.... Curiously yours, bee

Also, for Trevor's insatiable need for Tori knowledge -- I have UTP, BFP, TVAB, and SLG on cassette. The BFP and TVAB you found were right. UTP is the same as the promos with Cornflake Girl starting side two. And SLG starts out side two with Heart of Gold. Interesting and amusing tidbit: on the cassette tape itself for SLG it says "Executive Producer: Natashya".

I've now found out that Scarlet's Walk is available on cassette, but don't know for sure where the side break is.
I'm guessing "Your Cloud" would start side 2. Place your bets...
It seems that Choirgirl may have been the last album legitimately released on vinyl - I was examining my CD singles and noticed that "Caught a Lite Sneeze" and "Talula" mention CD, cassetee and vinyl, whereas my "Bliss" and "Strange Little Girl singles" either say 'CD and cassette' or only have the catalogue numbers for those two formats.
Turns out that Choirgirl was actually a DOUBLE LP, like Pele, so maybe it was only three tracks per side. It if it's good enough for Sting's "Nothing Like The Sun" (similar overall length), it's good enough for Tori.
Trivia, c'est moi...

I want SW on cassette. (!!!!) You actually did my research for me, Trevor. I've been on a cassette buying mission lately, since the amount of inexpensive and easily attainable CDs is dwindling. I wasn't sure if SW was on cassette. Now I know! And I just looked at my Cruel/Raspberry Swirl single. It states, "Original versions from the Atlantic album #83095 from the choirgirl hotel available on double-LP, CD and cassette."

Woohoo!
I found a message board called Vinyl Asylum, and the 'inmates' confirmed for me the existence of Choirgirl as a double LP with 3 tracks each side.
Also, their Under the Pink started side 2 with Cornflake Girl, so I know which shift the Waitress does on a regular basis.
Now all we gotta do is find a Scarlet's Walk tape for sale, and everybody's happy...
