I don't see what's so wrong about cloning a new wooly mammoth, though... I mean I guess the animal wouldn't be entirely happy being the only one of its kind, but I'm sure it would be treated extremely well, and it would be a great opportunity to learn more about the history of this planet. Indeed, maybe we can start resurrecting some of the species we've destroyed ourselves... I'd love that, to finally be able to undo some of the wrongs we've done. I agree, I think we could learn a lot from perhaps bringing a wooly mammoth back for a few years. Trying to bring back the whole species, however, seems unrealistic. But I'd love to see the Dodo bird back in action! ;D

meh, i don't think there's anything morally wrong with it per se if that's what you mean; i do think it's a tad immoral to spend money on the cloning of a species that's been dead for a gazillion years when the resources and time could be well used in the search of cure for, say, cancer or aids. and yea, i'm one of those who thinks this talk about how all of scientific researches are interconnected and the clonning a dawn-of-times beast could help improve the taste of sundaes is absolute bull.

Christmas is nearly over for me - my mum and the dog are snoring it out as I type. I had a pretty nice day, but I ate too much. I really wish I could have given some of my food to a truly hungry person.

mine is pretty much over, too, though tomorrow's a christmas holiday, too. the entire family just left and now the only sound i hear is my father singing weird songs in his studio and i'm watching the snowflakes falling...
romantic...

yup, over for me as well! got a call from my boyfriend and now i'm watching Madagascar (i'll probably fall asleep right in the middle of it since i got very few hours of sleep last night) and thinking about how 2006 is shaping up to be. i have a feeling this is the last holiday season i'll be enjoying for real. it's all gotten to be kind of repetitive... we spend the entire month of december preparing for christmas and new year's party and then in two days it's all over and everything's back to normal. redundant, eh?

Yay, Christmas is over....yes, I said Yay. Christmas just gives my family extra reasons to feel bad that other members of the family aren't talking to them, or whatever. I got about 8 hours of sleep over two days. Christmas dinner was great, and I'm glad to say that I did not over eat at all over the holidays. Sorry I wasn't around to wish this earlier, but Merry (Belated) Christmas to everyone here. xo

did it ever happen to you that you really like a song but you just can't stand the voice of the person singing? it'd never happened to me before last night. i mean, usually when i don't like the voice of a person i hate the song that goes with it. but while i was freaking out in the middle of my christmas insomnia attack (i didn't fall asleep till 5 in the morning), i saw a video running at MTV's late night programming that was really good and would sound even more awesome if it was sung by a woman. it's a soft rock tune called "Barely Breathing" by this guy Duncan Sheik. maybe it's cuz it reminds me of Jennifer Love Hugetits's "How Do I Deal?" (the chorus is very similar), but a male voice just does not suit this song. lovely song, still.

lol, well i'm young, on vacation (means i have a lot of free time) and uber bitter that such untalented people have more money than i do, so i retaliate by giving them funny names! i'm sure they can't live with themselves now. i do like HugeTits's song, though.

I have shared some Nick Cave tunes with people and had them say "Oh wow, that's a pretty song but I hate his voice!" Which I of course cannot understand because I think his voice is unique and wonderful and dark, but whatever. And yeah, there are other songs I've heard where I think the voice doesn't quite suit the song, although I can't think of any now!... Merry belated Christmas to everyone. Been crazy-busy here. Like that's anything new lately... ♥

when i saw the video i actually thought it was a new song. now i remember i'd seen it before. i downloaded it and now i can't stop listening to it. it's such a good song, really. how many albums does he have?
meanwhile, how anyone can say Nick Cave's got a horrible voice is beyond me. he's like, the male PJ Harvey, he's the indie god.
