Hi ToriForum people. This is Jared, Kier's husband. It is very late on 11/17. Kierstin wanted me to try to figure out how to post on here and let you all know that SHE GAVE BIRTH! to our daughter Emma Grace at 2:21am this morning. 8 lbs 1oz. Emma looks a lot like me (full head of dark brown hair (unlike mommy's blonde). Heres how it went down: 11/16, 6:15pm...kier's water was leaking. She was examined and her midwife said this is it and that she had to break her water, inducing her. She was admitted to a really nice, new room with low lighting and just 1 bed, hers!. nice environment! After several contractions increasing in strength due to pitocin, Emma proved to not be handling it well. Her heartrate would dip after each contraction. OUr midwife and the nurse, after careful monitoring, at 2 am decided that a cesaerean section was in order in order to prevent further stress on Emma. Kier, much to my surprise was p-h-e-n-o-m-e-n-a-l throughout the whole ordeal. Not a moan, scream, or cry. Nerves, of course. But hypnobirth proved to work like a charm! She went to surgery to prep for c-section while I sat in scrubs in her room...by myself...freaking out of my mind with nervousness and upsetness (word? 
She handled c-section like a "tough cookie". Really, she amazed me! The only time she cried was when Emma cried for the first time. It was amazing!
...Right now, after being awake for 39 hours...yes 39 hours, kier is sleeping in the hospital and since shes not in a private room yet (like we hoped) until tomorrow, I unfortunately wasnt able to sleep over. So I'm at home trying to get some sleep before I fly over to the hospital again in a few hours. Emma and mommy Kier are learning together the methods of breastfeeding. I think they are doing amazing, but its tough. I mean, would YOU know how to eat with yoru mouth if your entire existence of nourishment was directly deposited into your stomach via umbilical?? We have many many pics which kier will post ASAP after she gets home def. by monday 11/21. probably 11/20. Shes doing well and in good spirits. She'll do better once she gets some sleep. Speaking of which...this is where i go to sleep. Goodnight all. Hopefully this will be seen by all of Kier's friends on here.
