Hey, everyone. I've redone the smilies so that ALL THE SAME EXTRA ONES WE ARE USED TO are now in a drop-down box to the LEFT of the post-message box when you type (instead of showing above where you type).
See the little box to the left when you go to type a reply - it says "Select Smilie"? That's where the fancy schmancy smilies are now located. The default proboards smilies just automatically show at the top.
You can view all the smilies by clicking "View all smilies" at the bottom of the little box. What that will do is open a small pop-up box, showing the actual smilies, where you can click on the smiley you want.
Now... you'll notice that the drop-down doesn't show each smiliey or it's "name" - it instead just shows a number. That's because the code read my urls which had numbers for each smilie in my photobucket account. But don't worry about not knowing which smilie is which number, just open the pop-up box like I said and click the ones you want. They will be automatically insterted into your text as you type.
For those of you who got used to some of the "names" of the smilies that were inside the colons, you can still type those names and the smilies will show because I saved them all in the censored words list.
So, to recap:
- You have the standard proboards smileys that show automatically and you can use those - just click the one you want.
- For fancy-schmancy smilies click your choices from the pop-up box or memorize what each number is and type the code (lol. Btw, Maggoty is #1 because he was the first one I put in my photobucket account - you'll see what I mean) or if you remember the old name-codes with the colons you can type those, too.
I did this so that our members on slower computers won't have to wait forever for all those smilies to load directly into the post-message box whenever they want to post. The drop-down/pop-up set-up should work for everyone, but if you have problems let me know.
*scratches one thing off her loooooong to-do list*
Yay.
