You know how a lot of us (or just me?) desperately surf boards for something to do especially when there are other matters waiting to be taken care of?
Now you can come straight to the procrastination thread and pretend you are actually doing what you should be doing by talking about doing it ;D Confused?
So, what are you avoiding right now?
I succesfully avoided checking three big exams and about 15 smaller ones the entire weekend.
However, I had to go through them this evening because I realized that I won't have time tomorrow before class (at 8am) when I have to return the smaller ones and besides, I just want to get them out of the way and done. I already sat on them for a week... Bad me!

Lol, yes I ABSOLUTELY use web surfing for that purpose!
Right now I am successfully avoiding doing some laundry, organizing my desk, and doing some grocery shopping (which is odd, because I love food shopping).

I am very happy to report that I have NO reason to be posting on this thread right now! LOL
It's not often I can say that and I do expect to actually use this thread in the future.... But for now I just wanted to say Great Idea! #12#

LOL, this is great... I was just the other day procrastinating with my thesis like I do most of the time and I actually ended up looking up info on procrastination online. What I found was a self-help psychology lessons. Learned a lot about the subject: 1) there are two types of procratinators, ones who don't care and just wanna have fun and the others who stress and fret about every task they need to do (I think I'm type 2) The reasons behind procrastinating are usually some kinds of fears (of change, failure, even success)... there are tricks you can try to stop it (time tables, rewarding) but usually people can only get over the procrastination if they face their fears and do something about them. Real interesting stuff (maybe I should have studied psychology and done my thesis about procrastination!) LOL edit: link mentalhelp.net/psyhelp/chap4/chap4r.htm

Tanja, that's like... procrastination to the power of 10: looking up info on procrastination instead of doing something you should! On a more serious note, I think I'm the kind who does fret and stress about not doing something and still doesn't do it--until the very last minute. I've noticed that I perform the best under stress. If you give me too much free time, I get absolutely nothing done. Of course now I have too much other things to do so I don't even have a stressful time to dedicate to my thesis. Maybe at the end of this week, when I have a bit of an easier schedule.
