What are you thinking of getting your friends and family for Christmas this year? What's your wishlist? "Isn't it just awful how Christmas has become so commercial, it's all about buying expensive gifts, nothing more!" "I never buy any gifts." "I always get those woollen socks from granny!" Anything you want to say about getting/not getting Christmas presents goes. I have this grand idea that this year I will either make presents myself (mostly sewing) or then I will buy something that supports a good cause. (charity shops, second hand, fair trade, ngo campaign products)... but when these department stores pour in their Christmas catalogues, it's hard to resist them... Anyways, so far I ordered an Amnesty International t-shirt for Henry and made this bunny for my nephew: pics.livejournal.com/juzka81/pic/00012534/s640x480

That bunny is just gorgeous As for me, I don't have a wishlist. My parents kindly paid $50 towards my Roger Waters ticket for my christmas present, and my sister over-spent on my birthday present so it became a birthday/christmas combined thing instead Ditto on my present to her, actually. I decided to help her out with her Roger Waters ticket too, giving her $100 ... hehehe. (see how obsessed my family is with Pink Floyd?? all four of us are going!) My sister and I were going to get mum and dad a voucher for dinner at a nice restaurant, but then dad went out and bought himself some bizarre geek accessory for his flight simulator computer game and then informed us that this can be his christmas present........ so I'm yet to think of something to only get mum now. Tanja, I love the idea of making your own gifts for people. I used to be into the arts and crafts thing as a kid but sort of lost it... really want to get back into it though. So maybe next year Oh and I also like the buying fair trade - last year I bought mum and dads gifts from a trade aid store. AND they have the best chocolate I've ever tasted... yuum.

I always try to buy fair trade coffee and chocolate. It feels AND tastes better.

Christmas has become too commercial, but I'm not an artsy person either. Unfortunately I'm only working 2 days a week right now so things are going to be tight. I at least want to be able to get my girlfriend something nice. I just know she'll get me something great. It's not a big deal to her she never even celebrated Christmas until she got with me, because it has become so commercial. And my family well as a whole all we want is to feast!
