I'm so sorry you're going through this. Did you see a doctor to find out what could be wrong?

Yeah, I went to the ER last night because I couldn't even function. They said my x-rays looked fine. Whatever. Yup, everything's fine. Even though I can't walk or stand up straight.

Cazzie-jo, have you been over-exerting yourself mentally or physically lately? My sister-in-law was under a lot of stress and had unexplained severe back pain, sometimes the body will shut-er-down even when your brain doesn't want to. The body is weird, but self-sustaining under stress. Either way, I hope you're feeling better soon.

Sabsy, I'm sure you'll be great at your new job. Who cares if you make a mistake? Mistakes are meant to be made in order to learn lessons. You'll do awesome, I'm sure!

Oh, Sabs, I'm always very nervous about new things like that, I've had only summer jobs because I'm in school still but anyway. But I try to think that little mistakes don't matter. It doesn't always help because even if I know it will go well in my mind, my body disagrees. But I'm sure you will do well. Good luck! #88#

New Nightwish singer was announced finally today. She's Swedish, Anette Olzon. I thought she would've been Finnish even though I'm sure they got demos from many countries. Well, I'm excited to hear her even though I'm not as excited as some people seem to be, I want to hear more. And it's hard to think that now Nightwish actually has someone else as singer than Tarja Turunen.

Another randomeness, I got my art course's work back, the teacher told me I got grade 4 for it (1 being the worst and 5 the best). She said my portfolio for my work was great, she said it was worth of 5 but the work itself wasn't quite, so the total grade is 4. I'm happy. I'm also happy she said my portfolio was good, I actually made it well because I knew I can make a good one and that will raise my grade.
But most of all, I'm content with the work myself so even if I hadn't got that good grade, I like it myself, that should be the most important.

hey, i had no idea the Nemo lady had left Nightwish. what happened, did she die or something? she had a cool voice. as i understand, she wasn't the first vocalist either, was she? i mean, i recall something about the lineup of the band having changed before.

I took my good old Radiohead poster off the wall yesterday.. it's been up there since November 1999. The wall looks so sad The sooner I get my PJ Harvey tour poster sorted out and put on the wall the better.

Tarja Turunen, the Nemo lady, was the original vocalist of the band, since year 1996 to year 2005. She was fired in the October of 2005 after their big Once tour. The reason, well, it's a bit hard to say what's the true reason but it was given they didn't get along very well anymore and that she wanted more money but was very diva-ish.... Well, that's so messed up case, it's hard to think she was truly so "evil", much of blame is also put on her husband and manager Marcelo Cabuli but no one but Nightwish's members really know what happened.

They have had line up changes but that's for bass player, not singer. On the first record they didn't even have a bass player, their guitarist played the bass on the album (they didn't much do gigs after their first record). Then they got bass player, Sami Vänskä. He was with the band until Autumn 2001 when he and the band's founder/songwriter/keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen couldn't get along anymore, so Sami was fired. I don't know more reasons, it's not spoken anymore much and if it is, the given reason is those disagreements between those two. They got new bass player, Marco Hietala who has played in many bands and projects before NW. Marco sings too. He's great.

And so it went until 2005 when they had this crisis and now they finally announced their new singer. Because after the band fired Tarja, Tuomas said that this is not the end of Nightwish. Tuomas is the head of the band and it's more of his band than anyone else's but firing Tarja was the common decision of the band's four other members, not just Tuomas, he's not a tyrant. Even though he writes the songs and is the brain, he says the band is democratic and they discuss of things etc.

oh man, i can only imagine how you feel. if i took my movie posters off the wall (The Hours has been hanging since the movie came out) i'd be so desperate i wouldn't know what to do... i have 3 posters and two huge photo frames hanging on my walls. i need my visual pollution.

It's ok, I still have plenty of visual pollution on the walls: 2 Tool posters (1 big one, 1 smaller one), 1 Tori, 1 Jim Morrison, 1 David Bowie and 1 Jack Nicholson (from The Shining - it's on my door).
Then you have the PJ Harvey poster which sits on top of the bookcase (kinda obscures half the Tori one) until I get a frame for it because it's that pretty.. Oh, and a Pressed Faeries calendar.

I took Radiohead down so I'd have somewhere to hang this picture my sister gave me for my birthday which was 6 bloody months ago! it needs a string thing attached so I can hang it though..

Thanks. What you said about your body disagreeing is totally what I go through. My whole digestive system gets effected. Even if I've managed to come to some sort of a calmness in my head, I still feel the anxiety in my body.

Anyway, things went O.K the first week. My last day at the vet is tomorrow and on Thursday I will probably start taking tables. I think I will be O.K if I can master their computer system. It's one of those places where you put your orders in through a computer, which has it's pros and cons. I'm good with computers, so I don't know why I worry so. Pretty soon it'll be second nature, right?

i'm very sorry i haven't been around that much lately. my notebook's broken and i can't afford to buy a new one yet, so i'm now living on daily trips to web cafés, haha.

but things are going fine - i had a wonderful long weekend in rome (where i saw tori!!!) and lisbon's becoming more of my home with each day that goes by. i love it here.
