I have 2 days off and I really want to see Juno. I would much rather go by myself, but I should probably invite a friend. I have become an utter hermit since the whole moving fiasco. I need to connect with people. But that would involve picking up the phone. And talking. I love my friends, but I always seem drawn to people that have a lot of negative stuff going on, and use me as a bit of a sounding board. This gets so tiring. Wow. TMI? Ah, who cares. I can't stand people like that. I guess one benefit of having a b.s. customer service phone job is that you learn very quickly how to express disinterest in a subject of conversation and steer it towards a new one quickly. Yeah, I've worked in customer service for a long time, so I've learned skills in that area- it just doesn't seem to spill over into my personal life! Although, I've never had a phone job. I'm sure it gives you a thicker skin, but I don't think I'd last long because the phone is evil as far as I'm concerned. When I had my dog grooming buisness, calling people to schedule appts was the worst part. I would literally make myself ill. In the summer time my mailbox would be full with messages. it was a nightmare. I know what you mean. I actually really don't mind listening. But sometimes the one-sidedness of that sort of arrangement gets to be draining. It's weird. On one hand I wish I could get a word in edgewise, but on the other hand, sharing is much harder than listening as far as I'm concerned. hehe. Social issues much?

weeks later: meanwhile, i've got dengue fever. for those who don't know, it's an epidemic that's been spreading in the city for months now (one new case per minute and has killed almost 50 people. i've got headaches, aches in my legs, high fever, i'm dehydrated and have livid red spots all over my arms, legs, neck, chest and back (so basically everywhere) that itch like fuck. according to wikipedia: thankfully i haven't had any vomit or diarrhea, but you guys know, if you don't hear from me for longer than a couple days, it's cuz i'm dead. ta!!!

and in retarded news, today would've been the 100th birthday of Bette Davis. letting this day go by uncelebrated would be a crime. so to Bette (wherever she is), Aimee and myself, happy birthday to her.
