Big Wheel
I've been on the other side Got my lips smacked Now they're dry Then you call me Call me in You think I am your possession You're messin' with a southern girl But my recipe is on with your stale bread Yeah, it's hot But baby, I don't need your cash So baby, maybe I let your
Big wheel turn my fantasy Don't you throw your shade on me I've been drinkin' down your pain Gonna turn that whiskey into rain Wash it away Wash it away Wash you away boy Let's go
I've been on my knees But you're so hard Hard to please Did you take me Take me in? So you are a superstar Get off the cross We need the wood Somehow you will rise But without a tool I know, honey, you're a pro But baby, I don't need your cash Mama got it all in hand now
Gimme 8 Gimme 7 Gimme 6 Gimme 5 Gimme 4 Gimme 3
I am an MILF Don't you forget MILF Don't you forget MILF Don't you forget Baby, I don't need your cash So baby, maybe I let your
I'm interpretting this as a message to the record label thinking that she's not hot enough for the business today with Tori saying that she's an MILF (still hot) and not to forget it. Also, saying that she doesn't need their cash, that she's just fine in her situation and she knows that her fans will support her with or without support of a record company. It's just a very sassy, I'm The Shit song. I love her attitude and confidence in it.

Hmmm.... I hadn't thought about it that way but it's very very possible. I also thinks it's an anthem about how sexuality can still exist in a woman if she's a mother.

Julie, I had not thought of the song like that at all but it's such a cool way of seeing it! It makes sense...
Big wheel turn my fantasy could actually refer to her knowing that there are some "higher powers" taking her forward in the career, and the wheels can't be stopped by record exec. pettiness or changing labels etc--she's doing what she loves to do and that's enough for her to go forward.
Also, some of the parts really sound like some young cocky (excuse the pun) thing is trying to give her tips on how to make it big, or is using his celebrity status or ego as a reason to act very righteous, to which Tori just says "Please--you're just a kid. I'm doing ok by myself AND I'm hot to boot!"

i hadn't thought of this song in that way either. very interesting though.
could also be that it's about the industry in general. as in, she allowed the whole industry to be somewhat romanticized for her for a bit and tried to be part of it but now she's like "F that! i'm sexy and talented and amazing and i don't need all of that shit!" and she probably saw the darker sides of it and is realizing that it's not quite as cool as her fantasies may have had her believe.

oh, and also the whole thing about "somehow you will rise, but without a tool" makes me think of the people who get up there in the industry without much talent (or "tools"). i think that she is commenting on how the industry is so much about being young and sexy and not really about talent anymore. but she's saying that she has it all -- the talent and the sexiness!
