Velvet Revolution
Feeling radical in cotton Purified in my satin But the bomb of the season is a velvet revolution
I look at the sky And feel the tears Of the prophets crying I look at the sky And feel the rain The rain of tears
Feeling radical in cotton Purified in my satin But the bomb of the season is a velvet revolution
All you killers of the children There's a new commandment The true divine creator wants a velvet revolution
This is another one that I don't understand, but I love the sassiness to it. I feel this is a political line to it as well. Any thoughts on this one?

"The Velvet Revolution was a non violent revolution that marked the end of the communist rule of Czechoslovakia. It began with student protest and a strike, leading to the overthrow of the Marxist government." I think tori wishes for a similar revolution in the states. Velvet Revolution Feeling radical in cotton Purified in my satin (I interpret this that the usual clothes cotton (Jeans) and satin (silk- luxurious) is not enough right now. It has felt radical and pure but it s not enough if we see what is really going on in the world). But the bomb of the season is a velvet revolution (that we need a peaceful revolution to really change today's administration)
I look at the sky And feel the tears Of the prophets crying I look at the sky And feel the rain The rain of tears (our situation is really serious and sad... and the prophets have told us about this)Feeling radical in cotton Purified in my satin But the bomb of the season is a velvet revolution All you killers of the children There's a new commandment The true divine creator wants a velvet revolution (This peaceful revolution that needs to happen is as important as the 10 commandments that are anyway not respected).Tori did an improvisation of this song in Prague where the velvet revolution happened and she sang the following. Many of the audience cried from how moved they felt. Was it you Oh it was you and you must feel this this inside everyday that you wake up everyday you know that 5,000 miles away in the land of the free there are people there are people trying to figure how to be like you back in 1989 You did something that we will sing about we will sing about forever
Thinking 1989 Where were they Somewhere in L.A. singing Little Earthquakes in my one room having a war with my record company those stupid fucks and scumbags yeah they've all been fired now bye bye Cause I am thinking yes I'm thinking in my mind
Someone I was hearing about people they were sitting they were screaming they were crying for their freedom For their freedom Was it you Oh it was you and it's true it was it was all true You see now I am thinking that in a thousand years you'll be a fairytale You'll be a story There will be princesses there sitting crosslegged over on Charles Bridge back in 1989
Was it you Oh it was you and you must feel this this inside everyday that you wake up everyday you know that 5,000 miles away in the land of the free there are people there are people trying to figure how to be like you back in 1989 You did something that we will sing about we will sing about forever
