I'm not a huge fan or anything, but I do like Madonna. She is one of the first artists I remember listening to as a little girl. We had the 45 RPM of Holiday and Like a Virgin and would dance around in the living room...it was so fun! I wasn't really into her much as an adolescent, but within the past few years, I've come to appreciate her again. I definitely do not put her in league with Tori, but I think she is talented and revolutionary...and most importantly, entertaining!

Alright. I think Madonna is amazing because she is everything she wants to be. Not many people have the courage to live out their dreams and express themselves to the world with out holding anything back. Her life has been anything but perfect, I think that is why I can relate to her. She had to go through so much pain in her life, but she still does not give up. This is amazing to me and it inspires me because most people don't have the strength to stand up to the world all by themselves. Madonna also gives me inspiration because she says and does what she wants. How could someone be so confident in what they say and do?, it is amazing to think that someone can truly be in control of their own life - which is my ultimate goal. Madonna also represents freedom and choice for the modern woman. twenty years ago women were still objects of sex with no power. Madonna along with many others have helped women become objects of sex and power. I think Madonna is also with out a doubt very intellectual. She is a successful mother, wife, actress, dancer, singer and I am sure the list goes on. For one women to succeed in all this, well there must be something special about her. This is why I am so attracted to her and her being, she has done so much and she defiantly laughs in the face of a challenge. Not to mention her career - the amazing music that she makes, which is so rarely praised. Her ability to be creative and to create is beyond me. She has never failed to shock and amaze me through-out her career as an artist. Each album she has put out has been different from the other. It is so wonderful to think one person can be so many different things and be able to show so many different sides of herself. I could live a million different lives and still not be able to tell you all the reasons why Madonna made it big. She is different from everyone else, she has really made a name for herself. She is Madonna and that alone is what makes her stand out from the crowded streets of hollywood.

I admit that I really like the die another day song...
I was in the theater watching the movie and was like, "who's that? that song kicks!"
I was a bit dissapointed to learn it was Madona because I've never been interested in the other stuff she's done.
but, i respect artists who continue to re-invent themself. I mean, I want a cd to suprise me when I listen to it... when an artist sticks with the same ol' same ol'... what's the point?
peace.

I actually remember hearing "jesse" i think it's called.. something about elephants and pink lemonade or whatever. But the point is, that was when I first heard her and honestly, didn't understand who she was until.. probably many years later when Take a Bow was a hit.
So, as the years have gone by, I've grown to love her as a woman who's smart. She knows how to do things and doesn't totally turn you off.. except for the cover of Music and that track. I'm listening to the album now and I refused to get the album when I saw the cover, heard the song and the video. I figured it would suck. [that was when it was released]
Now look at me, I'm listening to it. And I bought it.
I love Ray of Light. .. I've lost the CD lol but I still miss that album to pieces.
I think thats all I've got to say.
