i cant stand the die another day, well actually i bought it cos its one of those songs u can laugh at. "i'm gonna wake up yes and no!' 'sigmund fraud....anylise this!' and have u heard the mix?? the repetition of 'uh! urghh!ur!uh!' dubbed over sounds like someone alittle bit 'special' getting alittle bit angry the thing about madge bless er is that she tries to access places she just aint gonna get to-------the way bjork,tori...etc can she wants artistic acceptance, but shes a pop goddess diva, and thats it. but she DOES try,and fail. the acting thing just is never gonna work and u cant be deepp by mentioning old siggy fraud babe! the message in the UK is clear-- stick to ur day job love! saying that tho..her last album was pretty cool, apart from american pie and what it feeels like for a girl. but songs like 'gone' and 'paradise not for me' i was REEELy impressed with, and as its me thats saying something! ;D

oh, i sorta disagree with you, because i think she is far creative than alot of musicans out there, sometimes she isn't my style, but i respect her because she does her one thing. I wish i had the ideas madonna had for the die another day music video! i didn't care for her last album, because i don't like the whole british thing, it's not her. also, i think she has some acting talent, i love evita, it was an excellent movie and the music was pretty good!

i really cant credit her with ideas and music writing on her albums at all!
except 'true blue' which is the only song shes actually wrote alone!
i think mirwais who PRODICED her albulm and the mixers did an excellant job. it was so cool. but any singer coulda done that.its like britney in that sense.
dont get me wrong i can listen to ehralbum and 'bop' but i cant give her the respect i could give bjork or harvey or toriamos...etc.
shes good at what she does. but a mucsian? come on!

P.S
i dont think her last album sounded british at all!
and i think it is her. shes married to a brit and lives in a big house in london. and she seems pretty chirpy from pics we get over here.
her and tori are kinda in the same boat really, amrried to brits and living in england. i think living in another country makes u evaluate well. scarlets walk woulda been so different if tori was in the states. mebbe it wouldnt exist!!!PANIC!

well if u look at alotta tori quotes she sez living in england 'over the overside of the pond' she saw america in a whole nuvva way, or how european people see it too.
its like being in a life drawing class ;D if i'm drawing her from the front and ur over the otherside of the room we will have a different picture.
tori's also talked about the lack of media information about ur country over there..
so i see it as obvious if she just existed there her view would be so different. i think it was these different enviroments taht sparked her...
thats why i dissagreed with the above saying madonna living in england thing is not her. that didnt make any sense. ur id dont change along with ur address

I used to be obsessed with Madonna. Then she brought out "Music" and it was all over. I didn't enjoy most of the stuff on that CD.

I used to be the same: I have about 20 Madonna CD's, but when Music came out, I thought that was it! I couldn't stand more than a couple of songs off the album.
Then about 6 months later, I listened to it again, and all of a sudden, I liked it...
Now I don't like "Die Another Day" - I really dislike the song!!!
And I didn't think Music had anything British about it at ALL!!! I've always seen it as some sort of clash between Texas style redneck stuff and very sopisticated French stuff... a strange mix, but I think it works...
I still think Ray of Light and Erotica are her best albums to date, though...

Yeah, I couldn't stand music but now I think it's just "ok." I really like 'what it feel like for s girl'. Ray Of Light is definitely her greatest album. She was at her peak then. I have about 20 CD's also. And I have t-shirts, badges, gold records, vinyl records, singles, a watch, earrings. Yes, I was so in love with madonna. She was the "it" girl when I was growing up.

Hehe... well, she was kind of through being the "it" girl when I was growing up... I was born the same year "the first album" (aka. "Madonna") came out, 1982, plus of course I was a boy, so the Madonnaism didn't hit me as hard... I never really knew who she was until I was like 9 or 10 and the first I got with her was Erotica, which I hated (initially - later, I grew to love it, as I said in my previous post, but that album is just way too much for a 10-year-old whose English is... well, like a 10-year-old's)... Why am I rambling on and on and on like this??? Somebody stop me....

I really like Madonna. I think the way she evolves is really interesting and exciting. Her music is very poppy but what's great about it is that it can stand the test of time. Personally, I don't really think that in 2 years, when britney spears and christina aguilera are out of the biz, that any of their songs will be particularly memorable. But Madonna has etched herself in stone after being around for so long, and her songs are still enjoyable to a lot of people.
Personally, i'm a much bigger fan of her "ray of light" and "post-ray of light" eras. I think that ROL was her bets album, which had a lot of great songs like "the power of goodbye" and "nothing really matters." I think she really started to tap into her spiritual self and creativity for this album, and i'm sure having the baby helped that.
I also have "music" which is also a great album. Madonna's "experimentation" with techno on ray of light I think has turned into a signature sound, and that's evident on the album "music." I love the songs "Gone" and "Don't Tell Me."
And I LOVE "Die Another Day." I think the lyrics are just so cool, and my favorite part is when she goes "Sigmund Frued, analyze this."
I think she over does her "uh, uh" 's because she does that same sound in the song "music."

i think she is great. not as great as tori of course. on each of her albums she reinvents herself and that is an accomplishment. as a dancer myself, i totally respect her extraordinary talent as a dancer too. my favorite albums are "ray of light" and "bedtime stories". i do think she should stop trying to act though. with the exception of "evita" her movies have not been good. even if someone doesn't like madonna, you can't accuse her of being dumb. she has an IQ of like 140 and is one of the most powerful women in the world.

you know its odd with madonna...a lot of ppl like her reinventing style..but i really dont....i dont have a sense of who she is... with tori (yes we have to use her as an example) she grows and doesnt necessarliy "reinvent" herself...i mean clothes have changed thru the decades but she still has the same vibe....madonna i dunno seems more like an extertainer than artist...ill admit tho...ray of light album was the best of her career[/color]

Madonna is like a cockroach... no matter what you do, she will always exist. I think one of the things that Tori said about her is very true:
"Where is the Alpha Female by the way? That's Madonna of course, It's predictable, and I'm not really a fan, but she's a hunter, a mother, a carreer woman, a leader, an anarchist, a marketing project and mouthpiece at the time. If only because she exists as a counterbalance against all those Alpha Males whe should pay honour to her as female artists."
Madonna is here for a reason, regardless of her 'artistic integrity.' And the fact that she was never really taken seriously as an artist, as a musician, was because she initially presented herself as a statement and nothing else. It seems that it has followed her, and haunted her throughout her career. Madonna can write a full orchestra symphony and people still won't give her credit.
I've never been a Madonna fan myself, I own none of her albums. I don't do this in protest, I just never put that much thought into her work.
By the way, Die Another Day is a catchy tune. I stop scanning when I hear it come on the radio. But have I made a conscious effort to go out and buy the CD? No.
