Hey all, Any other Siouxsie fans here? I've been on a Siouxsie and The Banshees/Creatures kick these days, in eager anticipation of the new Creatures album coming out in October. Wow, this year alone and I got new Radiohead and Fleetwood Mac and will be getting new Bowie and Siouxsie. Now all I need is new PJ Harvey and I'd be set.

I haven't heard ALOT of Siouxsie Sioux but I do remember that 'Kiss Them For Me' song that came out in the 90's sometime. I think I would like their old stuff better. 70's punk was the greatest!

Wasn't it, though? I was born in 1979 and would have given anything to be my age now back when 70's music was making news.
I highly recommend Siouxsie's other band, The Creatures. Good, good stuff.

Ooh memories...
I used to be a Pistols and Ramones-fan too, around high school time and people would get totally pissed off at me because I didn't look like a punk. ie. I was a faker. Man I hated school. But I still listen to the Ramones every now and then.
Unfortunately I never got around listening to Siouxie more than bits and pieces. Time to make a trip to the awesome CD collection our library has...

Now I have that song "Peek - a - boo" running through my head. That's a Siouxsie and the Banshee's song isn't it? I used to love that song. I never really listened to them other than when I heard them on the radio, but I liked what I heard.

I never really listened to them other than when I heard them on the radio, but I liked what I heard. ...Peepshow, creepshow, where did you get those eyes? . Ya, thanks. Now I have it, too! LOL (Yes, it's a Siouxsie song) My first introduction to Siouxsie was when I was 9 yrs old and went over to my friend Cindy's house to play. She had an older sister (14 at the time) who was soooo into Siouxsie and the banshees. Her entire room was plastered with tons of posters of them, and mostly of Siouxsie....her room was very dark and gothic (before goth was really in) and I remember it totally freaked me out! LOL The weird thing was that her sister went to a private Catholic girl's school, so she'd wear her school uniform but she'd have on all this crazy goth make-up and the wildest jet-black hair and be listening to Siouxisie really loud in her room.....it made for a strange image! I do like what Siouxsie stuff I've hear over the years.....Actually, I'm all about DEAR PRUDENCE.....I love their version of it. Spellbound and Christine were my other favorites. We hear Face to Face all the time b/c it's at the end of the Batman movie, and my 4 yr old loves Batman anything. Ok, I'm going to date myself here, but way back in the day (circa 1982) my friend Kim who lived across the street from me (our parents still live in the same houses now) would play her Siouxsie Juju tape in a tape recorder/tape player-- no, not a portable stereo/boombox, I'm talking about the old tape player things that run on batteries, with one tiny output speaker!-- outside in our front yard and we'd make up dance routines. We would listen to Siouxsie and Adam Ant, The Cure and the B-52s......Ahh, Good Times. LOL Hey, talula, do you have that album they did in the late 80's (or maybe it was early 90's?) that was all covers? I don't recall the album title, but there's a cover of The Band's "This Wheel's on Fire" that I really like. I don't know much of their later stuff after Peepshow (besides "Kiss them for Me", which was all over the radio), and I don't think I know any of the Creatures' stuff at all. (do they have a radio-friendly tune that's playing now?) Every once in awhile KROQ will play a rock-block of old Siouxsie and do 3 of my favorites in a row...I love that!

Yay! Siouxsie fans! And yup....the cover album they did was released in 1987 and is called 'Through the Looking Glass'. Great album. My favorites (right now) are 'Peep Show' and 'Tinderbox'....can't get enough.

I love their cover of Iggy Pop's The Passenger, it is a very energic version.
